satan = a fallen angel. Some think Satan and Lucifer are one and the same, but I'm not sure.

God is all knowing. That has nothing to do with the existence of evil. God gave humans the gift of free choice. With that, humans have the choice to do good or evil. The whole "devil made me do it" thing is a convenient excue for people not taking responsibility of their actions.

I don't stand on the shroud of turin.

The bible is not a non-fictional account of religious history. It is a compilation of many different stories from different sources from different times. What you get out of the bible depends on how you interperet each reading from the bible. It should not be taken as an accurate, reliable account of history.

How do these questions have any bearing one someone being on the "right track" of their faith anyway?

Satan is a spirit being, a fallen angel who sinned. We could assume that he had the position as a covering cherub that was supposed to safeguard the first human couple and earth. That however is a bit of conjecture and assumption -- interpretation if you want.

In the case of our present world and the condition of sin and death in the world, the answer is quite complex.
1. God gave angels and men free will -- this implies that one may choose to do right or wrong, good or evil.
2. Satan stuck a monkey wrench into God's works so to say at just the right - wrong- time, thus obeying Murphy's law.
3.A. Satan didn't challenge God's power, but God's right, God's need even - to rule men for their own good.
B. This question couldn't be resolved by means of power. Only a heavenly court could resolve this by letting men govern themselves and prove if they could do so without destroying themselves and the earth.
C. Several other issues were similarly raised that needed to be answered not by power. These issues are provided in the book of Job.
^^^^^^^^^
The Bible is fully 100% reliable. Why shouldn't it be?

Whomever asked that question either is testing you or is wrong himself and perhaps without faith that God truly is and can intercede to help us both with teachings and factual assistance.

That would be a problem of belief and no one can make anyone believe or disbelieve. Thus the question cannot be part of a test given credits in a credited religious or philosophical class.

That I believe that the Bible is totally reliable is not up to some professor to either approve of or to disapprove of by credits or lack thereof. It is nobody's business but my own.

Your professor knows all the answers? Wow! Does the Pope know your professor? Or is the Pope your professor?

Who is Satan? Dunno, really, but I take to heart that he (if it is a 'he') has nothing good for us, so I really can't be bothered to waste any time worrying about Satan.

'All knowing' is irrelevant to allowing evil to exist.

And what has the Turin Shroud to do with it? As a former member of the British Society for the Turin Shroud I find it a fascinating artefact. I seems as though it was produced about 700 years ago. I don't regard it as a 'fake' because I doubt that it was intended to deceive - more likely an object to help people to think about the Cross and as a focus for their worship.

The Bible is not reliable? As a science textbook it is pretty useless. As a history book it seems to have something to say. As a guide for life - well you have to make up your own mind on that one.

Satan is a deciever. He comes to kill, steal, and destroy.

Sub Q:

*God doesn't allow evil to exist, the Devil allows it. Yes, God is all knowing

*N/a

*The Bible is reliable, a lot of the stuff going on now, you can find in the Bible

PS. Your professor could come up any answers he wants to. He is just a man, Jesus is all knowing. I can learn more of Jesus but I do have faith. You or your teacher can not put doubt in my mind. God Bless!

The shroud of turin is very creepy looking, don't you think?
I wouldn't want that ugly thing hanging on my living room wall..

But thats besides the issue..!
The common answer to your first question is:

"God did not create evil, evil is just the absence of Good, just like Darkness is the abscense of Light, Blah, De, Blah, Blah"

2nd Answer: My stand is that it is ugly, And I wouldn't even consider letting my Dog whipe his @SS on it.
(For fear that he may catch something..Like a curse..)

3rd answer: Bible is not reliable because it was written by Man who is Susceptible to many influences, teachings, etc.

I see the Bible for what it is. A peice of literature..A collection of stories & poems. Why is it Holy? Why if you get rid of the Circular Logic, it is not Holy at all!

And that is where "faith" comes into play.. V_V

Anyway. Satan can be summed up as our worst nightmare.

You just want to try and see if we are on the right track of our faith as a Christian? And you feel that, because you took a class on it, that you are able to judge if I am or not? So if I were to answer your question, and it was different then that of what your professor told you, then that means you are saying that I am wrong? Sorry but I know my faith and belief, and that I am on the right track, and I don't need any body to judge it except God. But thanks anyway.

Satan was Lucifer - God's original covering angel who fell from God's graces when he glorified himself rather than God.

Just like goodness, God uses evil to accomplish HIS DIVINE WILL

Shroud of Turin is false - Jesus had a napkin wrapped about HIs face when He was entombed

Don't understand your last item......

A Fallen Angel of God.

To bring Glory to Himself.

I believe that the Shroud is real because God has confirmed it to me.

He didn't created Satan, Lucifer Instead..
but Lucifer, the most beautiful Angel, was found with guilt, pride and lusts in his heart..God created us before His image, (not necessary means thru the shape of a human or whatsoever but of Holiness)..He (GOD) then created Hell for Lucifer, and Lucifer don't want to go there alone so he created some apparently good to invite someone like you..but God is working to help you not to get there thru ears..

God communicates thru HEARING
Lucifer communicates thru SEEING (that's why he uses beauty)

EDIT: Before it was called Satan, He was Lucifer..

Same here.

Considering the word hell was derived from a Jewish word that meant "Where your soul goes when your body dies"

Doesn't that mean we're all going to the same place?

Can you ask him that for me? I'm dying to know what someone has to say about that.

And why Homosexuals weren't a Sin till the new testament, and why all a sudden, you're not recommended to stone your wife when she cheats.
