Or would you wait until you have more information about me before you judge my character?
It saddens me when I tell someone I don't believe in God and they immediately write me off as rude, crude, immoral, disrespectful and a waste of space.

It happens in R&S pretty regularly, and for the first time, it just happened to me in the 'real world'.

Well, seeing as most atheists are humanists, no i wouldn't think badly of you.

Atheists often have a better understanding of how we should treat people than devout Christians do. Some Christians believe that the Bible should be taken literally word for word, whereas many passages are supposed to be analysed instead as there is often a hidden message.

Christians often judge when it is not their place to judge as we are told for certain in the Bible that God is the only true Judge as He is the only one who is without sin ('let the person who is without sin cast the first stone')

None of us are without sin because of original sin and we all have thoughts that are considered unclean from time to time, nearly all of us get jealous or envious at one point or another - we are all sinners and should not judge atheists, other Christians, other religious groups of people and individuals, agnostics etc.

Long story short - I would never judge a person for their religious beliefs and neither should any other Christians. I take people for who they are and if everyone else had this view, the world would be a much better place to live in.

Not at all. You have as much right to be here as anybody else. There are different reasons why people don't believe opposed to there being no evidence. You may just lack faith and without faith it is hard to believe anything. I don't judge anybody... It is hard in this day and age not to judge but I do hope your life is complete, fullfilling, and meaningful. If you have this now that is a good thing because at the end of your life you might not have everything that you wanted out of it except a big void that you are going to wonder how to fill. In the mean time I hope you find what you are looking for.

Well I would bring up God to you. It would be hard to have a regular conversation, if you were saying bad things about God. Things that would make me judge you quickly is cursing, using God's name in vain, and talking filthy. On both sides we have a choice and when it comes to an Atheist and Christian there are not a lot of things in common with religion. Maybe on a person level we could like the same type of music or soda. Christians are not trying to be rude or mean, it is like making fun of us because we chose to believe in God. I hope you can see both points of view. God Bless!

top the subsequent element you opt for to ask your self. Muslims imagine Christians are incorrect Christians imagine Jews are incorrect and unreligous human beings imagine you're all muppets. As for Muslims they look to make it up as they go. One get jointly of it is the very reality they're affirming you are able to't were the guy united blouse it truly is the signal of the devil ermm that purely got here into subject some months in the past how lengthy have manu been playing i imagine a lengthy time period. And we've our answer its observed as Nature its observed as Physics its observed as Evolution we are no longer searching for an answer we've one do you've one which could be subsidized? Gullable = certainly taken in or tricked faith = A beliefe in something you are able to't see or contact no longer a lot of a large difference in my eyes. If I got here as a lot as you with 2 hundred,000 human beings and a e book that asserts tree's can communicate will you keep on with my faith please it makes a hell of a lot extra experience. also i could opt for to operate my factor on faith. i imagine Jesus did exist i truly do yet i don't think of god did or does. i imagine jesus turned right into a sensible guy basically before his time. a guy who understood drugs in extra advanced ideas than anybody else. and human beings forsore him as a larger individual and by the years he grew to change right into a nicely regular determine of therapeutic. Ever heard of chinese whispers the position one individual begins a whisper off and it may change because it receives down the line nicely my opinion similar is going for Jesus. He went from a legend to the son of a pragmatic being. Peple like Hawking and Einstien in the journey that they went decrease back to the day of jesus they too could probable change into gods being waiting to create fireplace from sticks and stones being waiting to administration electrical energy are you affirming they would not human beings decrease back then did not comprehend the way the international worked. the purely reason Hawking and Einstein arn't gods in the present day is because the overall inhabitants is plenty cleverer and the conventional individual is conscious electricty and fireplace.

Tough question. I've known a lot of Christians who sure wouldn't do that. Known a handful of self-righteous ones that would. I'm neither Christian nor atheist so I guess that puts me on the fence, don't it? I've met a lot of atheists who have a lot more regard for morals and respect than a lot of so-called Christian folks. What's with the labels anyway? Be who you are and walk the walk. Give it a rest.

Would I judge you? Of course-- don't we all judge people by their acts, beliefs, even looks? Saying that you do or do not believe in God says a lot about you, at least one aspect of you.
Would I assume the worst of you? No. Most of the truly horrible things in history have been done by "true believers" of many faiths. But so have many of the greatest....
No man has the right to assume you are unworthy because of your faith, or lack thereof. That's why we have freedom of religon, which so many of us have fought for!

Your being an atheist wouldn't even be on the list. If we didn't get along, it would be for reasons other than you being an atheist. And if someone called you a waste of space just for being an atheist, ...wow. How can you possibly respond to such ignorance and heartlessness?

2007-11-25 20:04:18 · answer #9 · answered by Wired 5 · 1 0

It depends on why you are telling me this. If you out of the blue decided to tell me this just to try to judge me based on my response then I would think you were just an obnoxious jerk that likes to create issues. If you were saying it in a way like, I am an atheist and deal with it, then I would think the same thing.

If we were just having a casual conversation and you told me you were an atheist, I wouldnt care.

No, I wouldn't-I would just want to do everything I could to prove I care about you. Im sorry people have treated you baddly-God is not like that.

I would love to give you the opportunity to accept Christ
Pray something like this-

(example feel free to use your own words)

God , you loved me so much that you sent you son to die for my sins so that i can have eternal life, and not have to experience eternity in hell. There is nothing I can do to earn salvation. I believe and confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is Your son, the savior of the world. I believe that he died for my sins, paying for the price of them all. I believe that you raised him from the dead, and he is alive today. I am a sinner and i ask you to forgive me. By faith i receive Jesus Christ now, as my Lord and Savior and I will spend eternity with you-thank you Lord-In Jesus' name amen.
