Not a stab at the Muslim community. Just curious how the Coptic Orthodox community has continued to thrive and remain recognized, etc. despite:
being limited to the private realm (not really involved in political life, etc.),
a decreasing population which was small to begin with,
violence and tensions from muslim extremists,
low resources (in the way that Christians tend to be running out of resources on a world-wide level and Muslim tend to have a greater control over those resources)??

Is it because they are more well-off financially? I don't see any other countries coming to their aid to any great extent...

Also, is it wrong to define them as part of a millet system? i.e. Legally protected minority rights?

What's the impact of their native-"ness"... the idea that they were there before the "arab" movement came from Saudi?

Any takers?

I'm 13 and my brother is 16. I don't want to get him money or a gift card and he's sort of a band nerd. he plays trumpet so i thought of getting him something for that, but i don't know what. also he loves video games (especially Halo) but those are usually too expensive for my price range.
Anyone have any inexpensive ideas?

since there seems to be a couple on the boards today ..
let me ask

if you believe in and worship Satan
how do you do so without believing in the biblical God ...
because the way I see it is
Satan is a biblical figure , so to believe in him one would have to believe the stories that go along with him
this includes a place of torment

please correct me if I have this wrong
but help me understand

I can understand La Vey Satanism , but not those who worship Satan himself

Were cooking a turkey and their was a hole in the bottom of the pan and all the juices came dripping down on the bottom of the oven. Now the whole house smells like smoke, and smoke is getting in my eyes and lungs. What can we do to make it stop? Every window in the house is open and the fans are on. Any suggestions please?

Wow. A man and an event (the resurrection) that effected world history to such a great degree, and IF Christian claims are true, would have to at least adjust your outlook on life and maybe the way you live, not to mention how you view eternity.....and Franklin never bothered to even gave the matter so much as a cursory glance? Am I the only one who believes this to be incredibly foolish on Franklin's part?

Evolutionist are trying to change the word because the universities are adding words to the definition. Go and look up websters definition not the wilkpedia or any new one. It clearly say`s : " ABSTRACT THOUGHT OR SPECULATION, AN UNPROVED ASSUMTION, HYPOTHESIS ASSUMED FOR THE SAKE OF ARGUMENT OR INVESTIGATION." The universties are trying to change the english language thru the coersion of passing students grades so they can go and get a diploma and make alot of money. It`s real simple, the majority of proffesors in charge are agnostic and anti-christian.

The book is divided into two parts, the Old Testament, and the New Testament. Most scholars agree that the Old Testament is the real deal, while the New Testament is fan fiction, written because there was no proper sequel in sight.

Okay last night ( I'm 15 btw) I was at the local movie theater with some of my friends ( 3 guys 4 girls & me). Well while my friends were getting there food, I had to go to the bathroom. Well I was walking back to the bathroom, & i had to walk past some guys. Well when I was walking past them they started whistling & stuff. That didn't really scare me, I was just ignoring them. But then one guy started talking about how he wanted to have sex with me & stuff. He was talking about what he wanted to do to me!! That really freaked me out. So I ran back to my friends, & I was almost crying ( I was rapped when I was 5 so i was really scared). I told my friends what had happened, & my guy friends were p*****. They almost punched the guy.
Anyway my question is how would you have reacted in this situation? I told my mom about it & she told me I should have called the cops. Should I have called the cops? Do you think I reacted okay?

About 14 years ago, I was told that yellow lighters are bad luck. I have since then heard stories about bad things happening to people while carrying a yellow lighter, is this true? I'll let you be the judge of that.
