Okay last night ( I'm 15 btw) I was at the local movie theater with some of my friends ( 3 guys 4 girls & me). Well while my friends were getting there food, I had to go to the bathroom. Well I was walking back to the bathroom, & i had to walk past some guys. Well when I was walking past them they started whistling & stuff. That didn't really scare me, I was just ignoring them. But then one guy started talking about how he wanted to have sex with me & stuff. He was talking about what he wanted to do to me!! That really freaked me out. So I ran back to my friends, & I was almost crying ( I was rapped when I was 5 so i was really scared). I told my friends what had happened, & my guy friends were p*****. They almost punched the guy.
Anyway my question is how would you have reacted in this situation? I told my mom about it & she told me I should have called the cops. Should I have called the cops? Do you think I reacted okay?

Returning to the security of your friends was absolutely the right thing to do. The next step might have been for you, with a friend, to go back and report those idiots to the management of the movie theater (maintaining confidentiality for your own safety). In any case, this guy was nothing but a big no-nothing loser. I'm proud of the way you acted! You keep your head up girl!!

I think you had a perfect right to react the way you did. I probably would have given him a dirty look and called him a jerk. You probably should have called the cops. Even though it is comforting to know that you are beautiful, some guys don't know when to draw the line. It is a sad fact. And the media doesn't really help much, with all the skankzillas in Hollywood. Plus most guys now really don't appreciate women. It is all about sex, unless you find a decent guy (and there are plenty out there). I would blame to porn industry too... Guys learn to look at women just for their bodies by watching stuff like that. It is sad that the decent women of the world have to suffer because a few couldn't keep their legs shut.

I believe you acted ok, yes. You don't seem like a vengeful person, or the type who bears a grudge, so you made an intelligent compromise between making a big deal and taking care of the guy who bothered you (your guy friends probably gave him a piece of their minds) . If it happens again and you are really bothered, of course call the police if you feel it is worth the trouble, but if the guy is just talking and you are with your friends don't waste your time. Try not to be out of the sight of a friend or a policemen. Always keep your cell phone handy and ON at all times. I understand that you were scared and being raped must have been a very traumatic experience for you. Take care of yourself, and good luck.

What those guys did were totally out of line, especially with your history. I probably would have went back to my friends and told them what happened too. You also should have told a manager, or call the cops. I don't think this needed a call to the cops but you do whatever makes you feel safe in this situation. If they would have touched you, even if was just on the arm, then you should call the cops.

omg thats awful. But it seems like they were jsut trying to scare you or something (I mean theres always the creepy pedophiles) but I always see people at malls and stuff just mess with people. Kinda like when you all dare each other to go into a store and ask if they do delivery or something funny like that. However calling the cops would have been a very good idea because you can never know if they were just messing if you or if they were seriouse. You cant go back to the situation and change it and atleast you were there with lots of friends!

I always have one accessory on me that can be used as a weapon if i ever need it. Take my belt bucle for instance. It is very heavy, completely made of metal, and I can swing it around. Perfect for protection. In your car, but a cd case that you could hit someone with more than once without it breaking. You never know when you will need these and they just might save your life. The cops wouldn't have done anything to that guy by the way.

Yeah, this is the wrong section, but I think you did the right thing. You should have told the Manager or someone at the movie. Maybe cops outside. How old were these guys?

At the very least, you should have reported the incident to the theatre management. He may have been just joking around, but he could also have been a sexual predator. Management could have thrown him out of the theatre so he could not hassle anyother young people. Punching the creep out would not have been a bad idea either, though not adviseable in the eyes of he law.

OMG this story really touched me I think I would have called the cops too because that is sexual assault which is a law. I probably would have just ignored them all together but being that you have been raped I can see why you cried. I'm so sorry. My name is Kay and I would love it if you would email me I give really good advice and it sounds like you need someone to just chat with.

You should have called the Police I have beena Deputy Sheriff for three years. and you could have helped prevent this from happening to some other girl. This kid may already have a record. I am not trying to talk down to you at all everyone reacts differently in times of stress. Kids will be kids but they should not cross the line you have rights to. be careful and be safe.
