God and religion are separate. How God came into being (the leading role in a man made fairy tale or as creator) doesn't really matter. Can we throw out religion (a systematic response to God) and just have fun playing around with the idea of God?

Okay first off I hope not to offend anyone and if I do unknowingly I apologize. Anyway, I was reading an article in Newsweek about Michael Bloomberg. They said in the article he was Jewish and when his family tried to buy a house in some neighbordhood the owner didn't want to be the first to sell to a Jewish family. Okay let me get to the point. If Newsweek didn't state Michael Bloomberg was Jewish I wouldn't have known I mean he looks white. So in my head I'm thinking white poeple being prejudice agaisnt white people that would make no sense. Unless Jewish people aren't white. So I want to know are Jewish people white and if not why aren't they considered white??

Hate in-laws gift exchange. I feel that I go with something nice and bring their re-gifted crap home. Last year they wanted to bump up the price because they said they can't find anything good for $30. I said no way. I am not doing the gift exchange. My brother and sister in law seriously must go to garage sales or shop on clearance racks for a $15 gift and pass it off as $30. You can tell because the boxes look like they have been on the shelf for 20 years. I have gone along with the exchange because it's my husbands family and don't feel it's my place to change traditions. However I'm seriously sick of spending money to get a crappy gift in exchange which no though was put into. How can I not participate when there is only 6 people at this event. I also don't want to suggest drawing names because before when we shopped individually for people I would put much though in the gift to receive bath products from these people that they must have received from a student 15 yrs ago

Here is an excerpt from an interview with the author before he had a movie to sell us.
Why would a Christian put money in this man's pocket?

"I'm trying to undermine the basis of Christian belief," said Pullman in an article by The Washington Post, adding that C.S. Lewis, the Christian author of Chronicles of Narnia, would describe his books as the “Devil's work."

Imagine the benefits:
1. Able to watch films from all over the world without subtitles. Plus books, radio, internet blogs.
2. Quicker and easier and clearer diplomacy.
3. Easier and quicker trade.
4. Basically, the ability to communicate with people everywhere in a normal manner.
5. The international language could expand and adopt new words taken from interesting second (traditional) languages from all over the world.

Lets get modern. I think English, but some people would say Spanish, French, or Chinese. Overall a single language would be a good thing>>>>

With English we have a great global language, it's already second language in many nations. But what positives can North Americans, Oceanianians, Irish, and Britons learn from other cultures too?
1. Maybe drink less, and rely less on getting going out and getting drunk (especially younger people).
2. Maybe do more exercise, and eat more healthily.
3. Maybe focus more on long-term rather than short-term relationships etc et

Are Idols just pointers in Hinduism ?

Perhaps in Sanskrit its said, "Viseshal Grahyathe ithi Vigraha", somewhat meaning An Idol is an adjective of God, thru which some aspects of God can be understood and identified.

Is Idol something like an adjective of God, which explains God in someway as adjectives explain the next word, the Bigger thing, with a theme Is and Beyond ?

The same way an adjective explains a thing, but the thing is and much more than the Adjective.

For example "The Sweet Sweet". The Sweet is Sweet, but can be of Jaggery, Sugar or Ghee or all together. Does the adjective Sweet praising the Noun Sweet, the relation between the Adjective Idol (Vigraha) and the Noun God ?

What are your thoughts in this regard ?

Only the thoughtful need to answer ...

The number of Christians in prison far outweighs the population of atheists, and the studies account for the difference in overall population: "Note that atheists, being a moderate proportion of the USA population (about 8-16%) are disproportionately less in the prison populations (0.21%). "

Because if you do, you'd be world famous! You see, scientists, REAL scientists have looked and there really isn't a single shred of credible evidence to support the myth of a worldwide flood. And no revising the story with answers like "well it was in the middle east, that was Noah's world... blah, blah, blah..." because that's just a cop-out. Clearly the bible states that the flood was worldwide event so there must be evidence of such.
I'll check back often and reply often too.

Do you feel that you know what path in life God intends for you?

Do you KNOW that you know!

How did that happen for you?

Is it reasonable to expect God to protect or shield you from the trials and tribulations of life?

Making it to heaven, on the action of Jesus, to pay for my sins, is WONDERFULL?

But some how waiting to arrive in heaven just doesn't seem to be good enough. How can I serve Him? How do you?

He said "Go yea into all the world".

Is this YA forum obedience to Him?

Some times I feel like I am just throwing "straight lines" to unbeliever "commedians" who stalk this R & S forum, despite their complete LACK of religion and spirituaity (and apparent disinterest in the subject). Why do they bother to evangelize for unbelief? Do they think we never have doubts enough of our own!?!

I pray that I wll reach some one here. God judges the heart. I pray that He finds my intentions are honorable.

How can we KNOW?

do I have to go physically?
