How to tell if people are gay?

i am a young 16 year old boy. i am aware that i am gay, but i am to shy to come out of the closet. is there any way to find out if people are gay, or to give them some kind of sign that you are gay.

like a week ago i went to the movies, and some guy offered me some candy, out of no where. i am not sure, but i think he was flirting with me. but i wasnt sure and i did not want to make any conclusions. and if he was flirting with me, i had no idea of what to do to let him know i am gay.....

so is there any edvice out there

i saw a few answers saying that gay people assually dress, and act different. but i dont. i act like a straight person. i talk to girls and hang with them. and i also like being with them. but i dont bolieve i am sexually attracted to them.

there is gay peple in my school, who have left the closet. but i think they are the extreme kind of gay. like they wear super tight clothes and talk really femenine, but i am a gay who acts straight, so its weird

For starters, you don't have to tell or show to anybody your sexual preferences, nor to ask them theirs.

Approach any relationship without thinking about your or the other people's sexuality.

Make friends in terms of everyday likes and dislikes, such as, movies, food, drinks, clothes, sports, places, etc...

As the friendship develops, your sexual likes and dislikes will come out naturally and then you can take it from there.

First of all " Never take candy from strangers ", yes it's a rule.
You don't know if they've put something in it or not and you don't know what they would do to you if they did, some might just want to have their way with you and others are even sicker and may want to kill you, so no candy.

Finding someone can be hard but once you find someone you like you can make friends and get to know them first.
Knowing someone can give you an idea about weather or not they are gay.
You can make more then one friend that you think you might like to be with and get to know them at the same time so if one doesn't work out maybe one of the others will.

Once you've made these friends you can watch them and wrestle with them or whatever.
You can also catch them checking you out down there so shorts are great for that or if they are staying the night and you sleep in your undershorts and they are gay you also have a good chance at catch them checking you out.

I've always slept in undershorts or naked but you can't sleep naked with company.

With the situation at the movies, if this guy was someone you might be interested in, you should have accepted his offer, smile, then see where it went. I imagine his gaydar was working! Be careful, though! I know you've heard of young guys getting beat, don't be one of them.
Most of the gays I've known are extremely well groomed and well dressed. A lot of them have great hair. Most act effeminate, but some don't.
If a guy is interested he'll usually make eye contact and smile. Guys generally don't go around smiling at each other for no reason! Smile back! It's okay if you're too shy to keep eye contact, just keep glancing back his way and smiling. This will let him know you're interested, but shy. He'll probably come to you then. Don't shut down, just be friendly, and nature will take it's course. As you gain experience, you'll just usually learn how to know who is and isn't one of your own. That's your gaydar.
Until you gain some experience, keep a back-up line in mind in case you're mistaken about someone. If a guy suddenly asks what are you looking at, you want to have an answer ready. You could say you like his haircut, and was wondering who his barber is. That might sound kind of gay, but it might get you off the hook, too. Or you like his shirt, or whatever.
One thing: Always, always, remember to keep yourself safe! Don't "go for a ride" with someone you've just met! Make sure someone knows where you're going and with whom. Preferably someone who could identify the guy if he's not what he seems. Take some time to get to know someone before you go off with him alone.
And, please, please, when you decide to become sexually active, always practice safe sex! The risks are too great, and it's just not worth it. Good luck to you!

This guy may have been just being nice by offering you the candy. Recognizing when someone is flirting as opposed to being kind can be a tough thing to figure out ..... no matter what age you are. Give it a couple of years and your "gaydar" will develop to the point where it will be easier to recognize flirtations.

Sorry but there are no easy ways to tell.
There aren't any secret handshakes for us, or sign languages.
The best way you can figure out who is gay and who isn't, is just say "Hey, would you happen to be gay? Just curious." And if they get offended, just say "Sorry I was just wondering." Its no big deal.
P.s. If you have a feeling someone is flirting with you, 70% of the time they are.

Just because somebody offers you candy does not mean that they're gay or they're hitting on you, unless it's an old man in a park. you can't always tell if people ARE gay, but you shouldn't be specifically looking for homosexuals to see if you fancy one. Just live your life, and if you like someone tell them.

Wear a pink shirt with a big rainbow on it. It isn't subtle, but it will definately signal people that you are gay. Other than that the only thing you can do is ask them. You will probably have to come out to them to get them to tell you that they are too.

Gay dudes seem to stare at each other for a while to let each other know they are gay, I live in a heavily gay commuinity 9 not gay myself) and guys will do that, if you look away soon, they get the picture... if you maintain eye contact, I am willing to bet they will think you are gay..

well im gay too...and im in the closet and i ask the same thing. you cant tell if someone is gay, because now a days there is so much jokes towards gays that when someone acts gay they could just be joking around..but if you want people to know your gay, just tell one person at a time, and take it from there. one of the people u tell might be gay too and bam! there you go

Well, how sure are you that you are gay? I will be careful if I am you. You are very young still. Stay away from old men with candy, he might be dangerous.
