Every year I put up my artificial tree, & I try for hours to make it look full without any big spaces in it. I always have several big spaces in it that is very noticeable. My husband says I'm too picky. What can I do to make it look better to me???

lol, you sound just like me!
i think tinsel is a god send!-fill up your tree with really thick sparkly tinsel that will give off the illusion of a thick tree..

failing that, do what i have done this year, buy a real tree!
if the tree has holes in it then at least that is the way god wanted it.... makes me feel better, well it did for first few days, now i just worry that my tree will be the same as every year!

I saw this in a floral shop and it looked fabulous. They took colored tissue paper in the theme colors of the tree and stuffed it in stratigic places. It looked fabulous. Sounds weird but when I went by the store I though what is that in the tree. What a great idea afterwards.

Other things would be ribbon. That adds alot of bang and only a few bucks. However when you put it on make sure you swag it and stuff into the tree at places.

Make a batch of gingerbread ordaments. Your house will smell great too.

Go to craft store Michaels and buy big stems of fake flowers in your theme of a tree and stick it in.

It's okay to have a tree that has isn't completely full. It leaves room to add a special ordament each year.

Use those large size ornaments and round balls rather than the smaller ones. Also swag tinsel all around. Another hint is to wrap the interior pole candy cane style with tinsel and lights (you have to do this as the tree is being assembled) and then hang some ornaments toward the interior of the tree rather than hanging all of them on the tips of the branches. Also layer the lights on the branches as the tree is being assembled. This gives the tree some "depth". Just experiment a little and your tree will look wonderful!!

Merry Christmas!!

Blue spruce or any of the bluish firs...they will not have that traditional "evergreen" christmas feel, yet will still add that feeling. Maybe those white feather trees like Martha Stewart used to sell? Those are elegant and classy...you could get little ones for the tables. I would stay away from the traditional red/green color theme...perhaps blue, white, or silver? A December wedding sounds awesome! Save me a slice of cake. I like the corner piece ;).

Get rid of it and invest in one of the newer ones they have now that don't look much different than a fresh-cut tree. They're very full with few hollow spots.

i used to have that problem
u should get tree garlands
they can be strings of beads or stuff like beads (this will tie it all together)
get lots of ornaments in those places
or artificial trees's branches sometimes bend so you could bend it over the holes

you can rearrange the branches (my mom's a pro at that) or invest in some bigger sized ornaments to fill up the gaps.
