What is your opinion on blasphemy laws. Below is a link to an article about a group in the UK wanting to sue BBC for blasphemy.

For Americans, what do you think of the blasphemy laws that were enforced Colonial America ?

Are they still on the books but just not enforced ? Or have they been repealed ?

Do you think we should start enforcing blasphemy laws ?
If they are still on the books, but just not enforced, should we take them off the books ?

I only went to one outlet that we have to pass to get home from up north.. (ralph lauren, coach, gap, oldnavy, rue 21, eddie bower , catiers, carters kids, etc.) Anyone shop at the mall, outlets, boutiques, lots of places?! I dont know how people do that! It's probably hard to find a parking spot!

Where do I start? Ok so we invited my 4 yr old son's friend and his parents over for Thanksgiving and they were delighted to come join us. I asked the mom before hand if she and her family were allergic to anything or can't eat any foods. She said they can't chocolates or drink sodas but everything else they can eat. So we made a lot of food and cleaned up our place to make it comfortable for the guests. When the guests arrived, I welcomed the parents by hugging them and when I hugged the dad, the dad just stood there and didn't hug me back for some reason. This made me feel weird so I let it go.
I asked if they would like anything to drink or eat and they all ate but the mom didn't want to eat anything or drink anything at all. I soon found out before I served her turkey that she didn't eat meat and she was a vegetarian. I wondered why she didn't tell me beforehand that she couldn't eat meat, so I could fix her something else. Continued......

Well I have seen a lot of Christians use this verse and that jesus is begotton son of God.
Gospel Of Jhon Chapter 3 V 16
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Most Christians say that the Bible mentions that Jesus is the Son of God, but if you refer Bible also says that Adam is the son of God,David is son of God and many others are also mentioned as son of God. Bible has son of God by the Tons.Anyone who is led by the spirit of God is the Son of God, tht is what the Bible says. It means if you are a good person , following the rules and regulations of God then you are a son of God and we are all children of God.
But the Christians say that Jesus is not only a son of God but he is the “Begotten” son of God and they use the above verse John 3:16, But the word begotten is not there in the Revised Standard Version.
This is the verse from the King James Version Bible and it is also present in the Douay Version which the catholics believe. The catholics believe in 73 books, and the protestants they have thrown out 7 books from the old testament saying it is “APOCRYPHA”
The Word Apocrypha means
various religious writings of uncertain origin regarded by some as inspired, but rejected by most authorities.
writings, statements, etc., of doubtful authorship or authenticity
The bible ,the King james Version and the other Douay version go back to the source about 300- 500 yrs after the alleged crucifiction of Jesus Christ.
And according to the Revised Standard Version, the Revised Standard Version Goes back 200 years after the alleged crucifiction of Jesus Christ , which is more authentic as it is closer to the source.
And according to the Revised Standard Version which have revised by 32 christian scholars of the highest eminence backed by co-operating denominations , if you open the bible and look up John Chapter 3 v 16 the word “begotten” is not there because it is an interpolation or fabrication.
As you can see 32 scholars of the highest eminence backed by 50 co-operating denominations have thrown the word ”Begotten” out of the Bible even the Revised standard version of the Catholic Edition doesn’t have the Word Begotten in it.
There is no equivocal statement in the entire Bible where jesus says I am god or where he says Worship me.
I want to ask the Christians , most of the christians believe what the Church teaches them , and the church interprits what the bible says, and different ppl give different interpretation of the bible , but there is no verse in the whole bible where jesus says in clear open words that I am God or Worship me.
And one more thing is that a word tht is so relevent to the whole of Christianity and has been there in the bible for so many years , the scholars just remove it for reasons best known to them. So, what is the surity that the Bible is still in its pure form, and would you still believe it even after it has been altered.?

I just need to ask why so many Christians felt affronted by an atheist who just asked a set of religious questions because he wanted information. He didn't bash. Some people answered and some just said 'you're ignorant' or 'read your bible more' or ' you don't understand much'. He clearly stated he didn't know anything about Christianity. He did no bashing. Why be so affronted by an atheist asking questions that are relevant? People get bent out of shape over blatant bashing but an honest question deserves respect. Is it just because they are an atheist that you feel you don't need to answer an honest question? That's not very loving as far as I'm concerned. All thoughts welcome. Thank you.

Monotheism came BEFORE polytheism. The first religions were monotheistic. The archeological evidence backs this up.

People in Sumeria (where Abraham was from) USED to worship the Judeo-Christian God, but they fell away from it and started to worship other Gods.

This is why there is a 1,500 year gap of no monotheism in the middle east.

Writing was invented around 3,500 B.C. there.

Judiasm (according to atheists) was founded by Abraham in between 2,000 and 1,800 B.C.

AT first, this may seem like a contradiction, BUT when you read the Bible, it clearly says that people had fallen away from the truth and Abraham was a minority because he followed the true God.

This gap is explained by the fact that people in Sumeria had fallen away from God.

My 21 year old sister has met a girl over the internet who is in her mid-twenties. Apparently, they like each other more than friends and are in a relationship, but many states separate them. My sister has a math degree and is certified to be a teacher and because of one bad experience, is trying to do something else with her life... currently she works at a grocery store. Her girlfriend is in her own home state, living with her parents, a mother who had at one time kicked her out for being gay and a father who really depends on her to take care of her disabled mother. Neither parent approves of her lifestyle and she is pretty much stuck there, because if she leaves.. her mother will go into a nursing home.

I've found that 40 to 50 year olds are the best store clerks. They are more attentive and listen to your needs. The young people seem too busy discussing their social life with each other to help customers, and when you insist on their attention, they only sigh and roll their eyes, like helping you is a really a big bother and interruption.

Although this question is primarily intended for Christian (all denominations) others are invited to comment, however, please focus on the two holidays in question.

Christmas was the day in which God became flesh to dwell among men, share our experiences and show us the way.
Easter was the day that our Lord emerged triumphantly from the dark domain of death having forever paid the debt of sin for all mankind.

Someone emailed me and told me I needed to " recreate myself from the ground up " as a cure for being raped and abused. I have never heard anything like that be4 and it sounds great. How do you do that in Gods power ? ((I always knew I would get something good if I kept asking questions on here.It makes sense becoz the effects of being abused seem to be a part of my identity. I always thought I needed to be magically changed. )))
