The Messianic hope was for the Kingdom of God ON EARTH. Since many Jews consider even writing the word "God" to be blasphemous, Matthew uses a euphemism: The Kingdom of Heaven. But it is about the Kindgom of God ON EARTH. Unfortunately it's led to a lot of Christians having the concept of Heaven as Never-Never Land up somewhere in the clouds.

Yes I believe they are different. The kingdom of God is not a place but is more like a culture that is in the hearts of people. Heaven is a literal place. The kingdom of God is on earth now in the hearts of people.

Yes, I agree with you. The phrase "kingdom of Heaven" appears only in Matthew's gospel; "kingdom of God" in the rest. Dr. C. I. Scofield, in the original Scofield Reference Bible, has two very helpful notes about this.

Granted, there are some parallels between the two kingdoms and as a believer, it's a privilege by God's Grace to share in both of them someday!

*Additional note* It might help if I listed where these notes were located (winces). Sorry about that! See the note for "kingdom of Heaven" at Matthew 3:1, and "kingdom of God" at Matthew 6:33. If even Matthew, quoting Jesus, can make a distinction between the two, that makes sense to me.

The Kingdom of God is not limited to the Kingdom of Heaven but incorporates it. Consider Jesus' words in the Lord's prayer: "Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.... For yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever." Matt 6:9-13

No, you are wrong, they are speaking about the same thing two different ways. Two names for the same Kingdom. No difference.
