You might be talking about the spanish language?

Nah, we've had it for a very long time but i think it was in the regime of Marcos when they ripped it off from school's curriculum.
I don't think it will be here for another long period because the legistlators have already passed a bill that the Philippines will only recognize two offcial languages: Filipino and English.

Maybe it is only my own twisted perception of things, but I think people is more interested in learning Spanish these days than when it was a compulsory subject in school.

Many see learning Spanish as going back to their roots. But I don't see that it can replace the use they have of English.

In as much as to be used as in the colloquial, none whatsoever, except for those who have been using it in their homes due to their parents of spanish descent.
As a language of trade even for those migrant workers it will just have a very minimal impact. La verdad es que ya no se habla por aquí. ¿Y por qué lo preguntas?

I think now, only few Filipino knows how to sperak pure Spanish.
But, there's a lot Filipino word that came from Spanish.
