I am getting better and more patience, but when I go to buy fresh green beans, I just grab a handful and put it in the plastic bag and go. Lately, I seem to get the ones who individually inspect and pick each bean. Ugh. But I am getting better at not getting upset. Really

When there are two carts blocking your way and the people stand there and talk forever and act like there is noone else in the world. Theres no way to get around these people so you say excuse me and they look at you like you're the lowest vermin in the world for interrupting their conversation. I really dislike that.

I'm pretty focused on what I'm doing so not much aggravates me.

I must say a misbehaving child or one that's yelling or screaming at the top of his lungs makes me want to find a cork somewhere big enough for it's mouth and Dr. Spocks book "Baby and Childcare" for the mother.

Sorry about the produce....but I am really particular about it. I am a smeller, a toucher, I unwrap produce wrapped in shrink wrap. I pick my green beans one at a time... I also take the plastic off the celery, look at the cut end to see how old it is and smell every potato I buy. I love to cook and don't use processed food and canned stuff unless I have to. I want everything bought to be at the top of it's freshness.

Same with meats and seafood...

I read the expiration dates on things, sometimes read the ingredients if I'm not already familiar with the product. I'm very conscious of where things are grown and packaged.

In the words of Grandpa Joe, "Don't get me shtawted on the supermarket behavior..."

When I'm grabbing my green beans by the handful and a woman is in my space waiting to get hers, watching my every move.

When people stop to talk and block the path for everyone.

When it seems like I'm being followed, everywhere I go, the same person gets there too. Aaargh.

Trying to get away from the loud cell phone talker.

When I'm in line and the person gets right up close behind me.

Stock in the aisles bugs me the most. I can't go around the slow people if the aisles are blocked! They should stock when customers are gone or at slow periods. Not on mid-day or evening rush hour! It makes me just leave my cart in the aisle & walk out & go to another market with higher prices & a more professional attitude that I feel safer in! If I want to shop the cheap stores, I try not to do it around the 1st or the 15th of every month, cuz that's payday for too many people.

Two things:
A screaming mother/child duo. Mother screams and wops the child who starts wailing so loudly it seems he'll self destruct. Mother proceeds to wop him again because he's crying. This drives me totally insane.

Next is picky shoppers. They progress at the speed of a an ant with everyone else behind them....waiting. waiting while they pick the abolutely perfect basket, produce, bread, and magazine. The checkout experience is toilsome. Arranging, wiping, couponing, paying and loading perfectly can take 30 minutes.

Those are the two things that bug me.

When you are one of the first people in the store when it opens and you get to the check out line and there is only one checker and over her head is this huge sign that says if more than three people are in line we will gladly open another register and no one opens the register. There are twenty people in line and a bunch of checker are standing around gabbing about whatever and no one opens a new register. That happened to me at a store's grand opening. I had a full cart and I asked the manager when they were going to open a new line and he said when he gets around to it. I said well when you 'get around to it, why don't you brush up on your English reading skills while you are putting all this stuff in my cart away, because the sign over the checkers are is obviously false advertising and I walked away. Funny thing was about 15 people followed my example because what I said to the manager was loud enough for everyone to hear.

It is actually more polite and sanitary for all involved to use one of the plastic bags to cover your hand and then get the beans and place them in another bag. This is especially helpful to those with compromised immune systems. For me, it's those who wait until all their groceries are scanned to begin looking in their pocket or purse for a check or credit card. I have the urge to ask, "Did you think you wouldn't have to pay for it?" So I avoid grocery stores as much as possible.

A couple of weeks ago, Hubby wanted to get to the sprouts. There were 3 people there discussing how many people were coming to dinner and how many sprouts they each might eat.
Conversation as follows:
"if we have 4 each, that's 28 sprouts. OK. Oh, but Bert will probably eat 6, he loves his sprouts. OK that's 30. but Mum may only eat 2 cos they make her f... pass wind then there's
Susie, she'll eat 'em till the cows come home. Hubby gave up
and returned while I was in the queue to pay.
Believe me, I am not joking!

Folk who 'park' their carts in the middle of the aisle

People who 'race' their carts around corners and try to annihilate me! lol

Folk with a gazillion items in the express line.

Folk who wait until the very last minute to dig around for the money to pay their bills.

P.S. I'm one of those who 'picks' through the green beans! LOL

I'm one of those who pick and choose each brussel sprout. I don't like to get home and wonder why I paid good money for a bunch of tough sprouts. Thanks for being patient with me! What bothers me the most is people who let their kids run wild through the aisles and people with a full cart in the 10 items or less line.
