About 14 years ago, I was told that yellow lighters are bad luck. I have since then heard stories about bad things happening to people while carrying a yellow lighter, is this true? I'll let you be the judge of that.

No this is not true at all. In fact the reason why the whole "yellow lighters are bad luck" is because the color yellow back in the aztec days was thought to be of high power and that if you were to do something bad then you would have bad luck until the next year when the moon came out. Since then anything that was of a yellow color and made fire came out was thought to be bad luck. But this was only a myth. I dont think its true at all. hope this helps!

Well of course not. Bad luck as you call it, happens. If you happen to have a yellow lighter in you pocket, you would assume it was bad luck for having the lighter. But all the other people that have a yellow lighter must have bad luck too. We would need to know this before we can make a decision on it.

Yes, they are VERY BAD LUCK - if you believe it. Because if you truly believe that any particular color has an innate power to bring you bad luck, then you are truly very unlucky to have been endowed with considerable less intelligence than the rest of us. On the other hand, I really have never liked the color yellow much, except in mustard, daffodils, and rainbows, and oh, in polka dots on a purple bikini.

If you believe something is bad luck, then every bad thing that happens while carrying the object will be seen as bad luck from the object. Yellow is a positive energy color, so I doubt it.

Well last time I had a yellow lighter I was in jail, so maybe there is some truth in it!! Got a blue one now and after reading this question I aint ever buying a yellow one again!!!

Uhhhh....let's just say when I bought a yellow lighter for a birthday party, I kinda was stuck in 2 hours of traffic and broke my finger.......
