When I am bored, I like to pop on here and read and answer questions or ask questions. I find that the majority of answers are full of judgement, prejudices, & hate. It is really disgusting.
Regardless of religious or spiritual beliefs, why can't people just be polite to one another and accepting of others? It's pathetic.

In my country there have been talks about this, but then the church got involved and the whole project was ended. What do you think? What are the pro and anti arguments?

Not asking if you think atheism or theism is true or false. Do you think that atheism is a reasonable position to take on the existence of a God? If no, then is it your contention that the existence of God is obvious? If his existence is obvious then why would we need to have "Faith?" Obvoiusly his existence is not obvious - therefore theists and atheists alike can agree that atheism is a reasonable position. And since his existence is not obvious I think or at least I hope - Christians can understand why atheists deem the theisitic position unreasonable.

Christians - Aside from the question as to whether or not God actually exists. If u can accept the fact that atheism is more reasonable than theism (based on his existence being anthing but obvious) then congratulations! You have just taken the first step towards enlightment.

The lighted ashes go bouncing on the pavement as I drive over it, wondering if it will light something under my car creating an explosion. Does this ever happen to you? How much does it bother you?

Why did Christians do that? Wasn't theirs a religion of peace?
Some Christians confessed to the crime, just in case you say that Nero did it as a result of madness.

as the paradox goes "can god create a stone even he almighty cannot lift"

we think he is powerfull....but if you think about it....just think........why did he create us? if he is all powerfull than he neednt see if we have faith in him......we use god as an almighty answer....(e.g who makes it rain....i dont know...it must be a BIG thing...i know ...it must be a god!!!!! hey every body...god makes it rain)....we know now that it is evaporation...and not god.....in physics, you cannot get energy from nothing...then were did god come from?.....

And if he is ALL knowing and ALL powerfull than why does he need to create us? to see if we trust him and have faith in him, if he is indeed all knowing, than he will automaticly know the answer to that quistion, there probably does exist a god....but not all powerfull!!!

I had a convo with some co-workers and they believe that truth is relative; basically, everyone has their own truth. I don't believe that it is. There has to be an absolute truth. Everyone's truth can't be the ultimate truth. I can say my truth is the sun won't rise tomorrow and someone can say that their truth is that their is no sun, but the absolute truth is that there is a sun and it's going to rise tomorrow. What do you guys think...

Why is there suffering in the world?

We are told in R.S that God is all good and all powerful

(Not just in Christianity in most mainstream Religions)

But then why does he allow suffering?

If he allows suffering that he could stop surely it means he is not all good!

Or if he can't stop the suffering then that would mean he is not all powerful!

Do you agree or disagree?

Some atheists are claiming that there is a possibility that God does exist...a very very small possibility.

And so then I see other atheist claiming that these are not "true" atheist...but are in fact agnostics and just claim to be atheist.

So if you are an "atheist" that admits to the very remote possibility that God(s) may exist, are you comfortable still calling yourself an atheist? Are you offended or angered by those other hard-core atheist that claim that you are not an atheist, but actually an agnostic?

Did you ever think atheists and agnostics would have the same problem that Christians and Catholics do?

I'm traveling for a week to a place that ONLY celebrates 90 days and 1 year anniversary's at the end of the month- should I wait until I come back to my homegroup in 10 days to celebrate or is it ok to celebrate tonight?

I've heard people from both sides of the spectrum- some who argue it's a jinx to celebrate early, even as little as 2 days early to others who agree it's not dramatic to celebrate 2 days early since I'm traveling.

Suggestions?

Old Timer Sex
The husband leans over and asks his wife, "Do you remember the first
time we had sex together over fifty years ago?
"We went behind this very tavern where you leaned against the back
fence and I made love to you.” Yes, she says, "I remember it well."
"OK," he says, "How about taking a stroll around there again and
we can do it for old time's sake?”Oh Charlie, you old devil, that sounds like a crazy, but good idea!" There's a police officer sitting in the next booth listening to all
this, and having a chuckle to himself. He thinks, "I've got to see these two old-timers having sex against a fence. I'll just keep an eye on them so there's no trouble. So he follows them. They walk haltingly along, leaning on each other for support aided
by walking sticks. Finally they get to the back of the tavern and
make their way to the fence. The old lady lifts her skirt and the old man drops his trousers. As she leans against the fence, the old man moves in. Suddenly they
erupt into the most furious sex that the watching policeman has ever
seen. This goes on for about ten minutes. Both are making loud noises and
moaning and screaming. Finally, they both collapse, panting on the ground. The policeman is amazed. He thinks he has learned something about life and old age that he didn't know. After about half an hour of lying on the ground recovering, the old couple struggle to their feet and put their clothes back on. The Policeman, still watching thinks this was truly amazing. He thinks, I've got to ask them what their secret is. As the couple passes, he says to them, "Excuse me, but that was something else. You must've had a fantastic sex life together. Is there some sort of secret to this?” The old man says, "Fifty years ago that wasn't an electric fence"
