What is the point of a God that allows suffering, does no miracles and answers no prayers?

'what is the point of asking that?
what's the point of dissing God?'

peoples belief in 'God' causes them to have prejudices, act irrationally, and in extreme cases take other peoples lives just because they have a different ideology to them.

'Goes not allow it, Sin will all be gone, God wants us all to be saved, that is the point, weeds will be thrown into the fire, there can be no sin, Sin causes suffering, death, bad things.

God does answer our prayers when we come to Jesus and repent of our sins, God is Holy and is seperated from us, but through Jesus can we be near God by asking to be forgiven of our sins, and Repenting.'

Nice rhetoric but you haven't acually answered the question whatsoever. You have just danced around it with your regurgitated church propoganda words.

It was invented to control the masses and gain power for those who brainwashed the simple. All religion does is cause heaps of trouble, you just watch, I'll get a load of trouble from this answer!

To pursue the path that God should prevent certain evil acts, catastrophes, and suffering is to expect Him to be discriminatory; and represents an exercise that would significantly frustrate all. It would make us into puppets and prevent opportunity for growth and prevent the true justice of "Judgment Day." God would cease to be God; men could perform limited good; and extreme limits would be placed on the potential of their courage and growth. His spiritual strength, and his personal character and power - all developed through overcoming temptation, adversity and challenge - would be puny, by comparison. The individual stories of almost every Olympic athlete and "defender of good" testify to this truth. Lost would be most of the personal power developed through overcoming difficulty and strife in this life. Man could not take charge of his own affairs or take full responsibility for himself and his own actions. Hence, he could not be, legitimately, held accountable for himself, or his actions.

If God did what you want, He would eliminate the potential self-satisfaction, increased self-confidence, and increased personal peace and happiness that directly arise from meeting, overcoming, and defeating life's great challenges and tests?

Surely, God is God; He reigns Supreme, all-knowing, all wise, all-just and all-kind. He still answers prayers, He still makes miracles happen and He promises not to make us suffer more than we can bear. Probably the hardest lesson to learn is Proverbs 26:2 "....a curse without a cause does not come."

To the confused and troubled soul God has simply admonished: "Be still, and know that I am God."

1) There is no "point". God was not created, and does not exist for a purpose. He simply is.

2) "What is the point of a God that allows suffering"
Again, there is no "point". God *is*. Suffering *happens*. God can save us from suffering (eternal paradise), but that does not make you immune to suffering during your life. Why should God be at your beck and call to relieve your suffering? What would be the point in *that*?

3) "does no miracles and answers no prayers"
I would say that there is no point in those gods who do no miracles and answer no prayers.

Well, if you think about how much oxygen that you used to keep you alive and that you don't have to pay for it. if you think about how much you love this life you are living in . and the fact that life is so beautiful and you would wanna live forever. Think about how well you are living and then go to some parts of the world like in the Caribbean or Africa, then you will know how much goods, this God that you doubt the existence, has done to you ! and with all the respect, if you ask this question to be funny, or to look smart, it was ridiculous !

I cannot answer your questions. I can only say that I know what I believe in my heart and my soul. God does answer prayers but they are not your time frame and not immediate. Miracles do happen but you cannot see them if you don't believe. I know that is so very hard to understand and I used to be just like you, but I have learned to trust in the Lord and know that he knows my thoughts and what is in my heart and my soul.

This is known as the Problem of Evil (or as C.S. Lewis called it, the Problem of Pain) and it deserves a much deeper treatment than we can give it here. You can start researching it at the link below. Good luck.

To know God as God through you, me, and everyone else on the planet! We create God.

Suffering is God's hands-off way of saying that we are not doing a very good job of taking care of one another.
