Ignorance is bliss. Christians should not practice free inquiry nor socialize with non Christians:

Don’t associate with non-Christians. Don’t receive them into your house or even exchange greeting with them. 2 John 1:10

Shun those who disagree with your religious views. Romans 16:17

Paul, knowing that their faith would crumble if subjected to free and critical inquiry, tells his followers to avoid philosophy. Colossians 2:8

Does being a christian really mean you remain ignorant?

Where Dinosaurs on Noah's Ark?

Of course the Bible can't list all of the names of all twenty million animal species, and all of the millions of plants that had to go on the ark so these wouldn't go extinct in the flood.

Genesis 6
19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.
20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive

Hi everyone,

I am 18 years old, go to university and live with sister and my mum who has a physical disabilty, fibromyalgia. My parents are divorced and our family is not close-knit.

My mums disabilty has been going on since i was in grade 6, and unfourtunately has always, slowly but surely getting a little bit worse. Last year she stopped being able to drive a car. Now she can't even get into one and stuggles to walk. I do so much for her, like get groceries for the family, iron things, get things down ''low'' or up ''high'' for her things that are heavy (ie: more than one Kilogram!). She can't even carry more than two plates at once.

As much as i try to help, it seems my efforts are fruitless. Its emotionally hard to accept, its like i see my mum dying before my eyes. Its a slow grief. I see her suffering, she has lost friends through this. I see myself, my sister suffering and other people worry for her. I sometimes wish she was dead.

How do i deal with all this?

Is it wrong to say "Jesus Christ" while at work or anywhere else for that matter? AND IS YOUR BOSS ALLOWED TO STOP YOU FROM SAYING THIS because 1 person says they are offended by it?
By the way the person who claims to be offended says "Oh My God" frequently. Is one better? less "offensive" than the other?

Does it make you think about what comes next, or do you feel there is nothing after this life? If you think there is nothing, how do you convince yourself that this is true?

note.....I just had 2 good friends die in the past 2 days.......

Homosexuals are also human beings and some are very religious.
If God created everything then he also created gays and lesbians, didn't he?

I have, when my husband had a heart attack. The doctors told me the prognosis was not good. I was walking down the corridor when I came across an old man who assured me that he was going to be alright.
The thing is, we never spoke, not a word.
It was just understood, that was the way it was to be.
I just didn't quite grasp what was going on at the moment. When I stepped out of the hospital I snapped, turned around and tryed to find him.....I was almost gleeful..I knew what I had come across.
Shortly afterwards, I transferred him to the Heart Institute in Houston. The surgeons there were amazing, even though the bottom of his heart was dead and had to be cut away.
Today, he is so active, I can hardly keep up with him:~)
Have you ever seen a spirit or an angel?

Alright, I've been off of Answers for a while, but this question was just nagging at me, so I had to get it answered.

So let's get the basics down. Superman can use microscopic vision to see the number of hairs on someone's head from across the world, he can move planets, and reverse time (by some reckoning.)

Jesus can turn water into wine (not sure about turning stuff into kryptonite,) come back from the dead or something, and as I've been told, summon legions of angels (of course, what's an angel gonna do to the Blue Boy Scout?)

So let it begin, I'm dying to know who wins this. Oh and to kick it off let's assume that Superman starts off with a giant, wooden cross, 4 nails, and a hammer. Jesus will start off wearing Lex Luthor's battle suit.

I'm am trying to be a better person because i want to be the best person i can be everyday. I really can't seem to do this because my family gets on my nerves. The more i try to be patient with them, the more it bulids up inside and i don't even know it. They are very impatient and short tempered. Not to mention close minded. My mom ESPECIALLY jump into conclusions. I am really trying to be very patient with this, but she does not trust me and she really just gets on my nerves. I think the only way I won't get mad at her is if i don't talk to them at all. I think my life would be very much easier that way. but i must be patient.. gob damnit

Here is what I think:

Truly the five points of Calvinism are the doctrines of men. To support these points Biblically one must use eisegesis, ignoring vast amounts of Scripture contrary to its teaching. TULIP destroys the consistency of Scripture and creates contradictions that the Scriptures do not indicate. For every point of Tulip there are Scriptures that contradict this teaching and it ..........http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-S6YMuFYyaa9ESBoW5DFwEjL_HhqA

I was raised in a church all my life. My parents were strict Wesleyans. I embraced Christianity for many years, but never fully had faith. I never understood the rational. I was taught that Christianity was the only way, and that every other religion was wrong. Actually, I was pretty much taught that I'd go to hell if I even questioned what I was being taught in the church (Guess I'd better just quit while I'm ahead?). But then again, I always had to figure things out for myself, the hard way or not.

So I have a few questions for any of you out there professing a relationship with Jesus Christ. I am open-minded to hear your arguments.

So why exactly is Christianity the right religion? Why is every other religion wrong? Who's to say that religion isn't just one big, fabricated lie? And most of all, why should I even care?

Some tips.
1)A lump of sugar with1 drop of Eucalyptus Oil, three times a day, fightes the infection.
2) Chest Rub and inhalations. Cinnimon 2 drops, Nutmeg 2 drops. Ginger 2 drops, Eucalyptus 10 drops, Benzoin 4 drops, add to 30 mils, vegies oil. Good as a chest rub and on a hankie, AND, put in your socks under your feet. Your feet absorb.
3)A little brandy, 1 drop of Eucapyptus oil, some ginger, fresh. Add some honey and lemon, and hot water. Drink as hot as possible and get under the your blanket. Used a lot in Switzerland for colds and flu.
Use only GOOD Aromatherapy Oils. Run by your Doctor first.
They don;t like alternative methods, usually. But it is always best.

These have never harmed me or my family.

I work as a host once a week at local restaurant. I also work as an office manager full time, so being a host is just for fun. The last time I worked, we were on a very short wait, about 15 minutes. These 3 guys who were waiting were being very rude. They kept making fun of me and the other hosts by mocking me when I opened the door for people and mimicked our voices in a "valley girl" tone, which is nothing like how I speak. One guy was walking through the restaurant looking for a table as if I didn't know how to do my job. I was especially offended by this because these were adults. They weren't disrespectful teenagers, these guys should have known better. I shouldn't let it get to me, but I was baffled at how rude these men were and the fact that they assumed that because I'm a host, I'm also an idiot. We didn't make them wait very long, it was under the quoted time, so I felt their disrespect was completely unwarranted.
