I drive past this Church sometimes and scoff at a banner they’ve got hanging on their fence which faces a busy road; “God is love” it declares in bold lettering, a simple message that even a retarded child could understand, because after all, they’re obviously not appealing to society’s great minds. But love is a concept whilst God is an entity and this is a contradiction in terms. Are modern Christians tricked into assuming concepts can be entities to better enable them to maintain the delusion which imprisons them? I’m thinking about how often Christians seem to think science and evolution are some kind of entities competing with their god for their faith.

My view is obvious by my question. I grew up with the Three Stooges, Tom and Jerry and western (shoot 'em up) heroes. I never, yet, wanted to hurt someone! Tell me what is really going on...

We are all going to leave the planet, and everything and everyone we know, sooner or later. Are you cool about dying, making your transition, or what ever term you use for it?

Example if a Jew was yearning for his roots but lived and raised in a secular society. He was having a hard time jumping in to Orthodox because his surroundings. Would you think this would be acceptable as long as he or she struggled to gain orthodoxy again?

I have posed a similar question before and christians replied saying jesus said "it is done" on the cross and this meant the old laws were over and the start of a new covenant.isn't this convenient interpretation as only a very short time before he said that he hadn't come to change the laws and in fact they should still be followed.Surely he would have said"but only for a little while longer" if he had meant them to be abolished so shortly after.

youve heard it all...from non-christians and christians alike.....why do you personally choose to remain a catholic?

to answer my own question....christianity is the only option for me as i do without doubt believe in a one God. was raised a catholic by a father who converted to catholicism as an adult. He was staunchly catholic with evangelical tendencies....if he hadnt converted to catholicism i would most likely have been the daughter of a pastor....I taught me to believe in a LIVING, LOVING and MOST MERCIFUL GOD....taught me to believe that God is REAL. and he was fanatic in his defence of the Catholic Church. i was blessed to have him for a father although for half of my lifetime i couldnt understand his "fanaticism". he would threaten to disown any of his children if they ever turned away from the Church...i believed him so i wud test his patience by attending other christian churches looking for the reverse side of the story so to speak....i did this for many years....
