I thought it was my turn to ask a STUPID QUESTION.

Averell A has made my point. Not all APES have evolved either.

...and the comment made by the Jewish person is why I don't pick on The Jewish. They are not filling up this forum with ridiculous questions and ignorant answers.

You're right it is a stupid question, but it can get an answer.

Although you could have asked why if Protestants evolved from roman Catholicism, why does the RC church still exist?

Not everyone would embrace the new ideas. They were not forced to do so, such as when Islam conquered the areas. Even then many did not really change.

There were many who were happy with their old religion and believed what their priests were saying. Some were afraid to change.

Christianity moved on and abroad and so its effects in the Palestine area were not as great as they could have been if they had stayed and pushed the religion.

This was not an evolution of the Jewish religion on a whole and not something that was accepted by the priesthood. It was done by an orator outside the church. So the Jewish religion carried on.

First of all, to the person who stated that there exist 'Jewish gentiles' - no, there don't! A person is either Jewish or they are not. Just like a woman can't be 'a little bit pregnant'; she either is, or she isn't!

As also already stated, Jesus was indeed Jewish. He was born a Jew, he lived and worshipped as a Jew, and he died a Jew when the Romans crucified him. Jesus did not 'start' Christianity; it was developed and spread after his death by Paul. All of the first disciples were Jewish.

As to 'why are there still Jews?'; despite the best efforts of the world to get rid of us, we are still hanging around, quietly going about our lives, loyal to the religion that Jesus adhered to during his life.

edit, you're comparing us to apes? Oh, nice...

No, Christianity did not evolve from Judaism. Christianity is something new. It is something new into which both Jew and Gentile are brought together in Christ. If you read your Bible you will discover that there were both Jewish and Gentile Christians. They don't cease to be Jew and Gentile, but those distinctions don't matter in Christ. It is thru Jesus Christ and Him alone that we are made right before God.

Because not all Jews have become Christians.

HEHE....like it.
Erm, all those who believe there is a link between Judaism and Christianity are devil lovers, all the evidence was planted by the devil... Christianity just appeared, last Tuesday!

Christianity didn't evolve from Judaism. It came from Christ (true, he was a Jew) who quite clearly stated that he was there to replace the old Jewish laws.
