Jesus was literate .... as indicated by others here he taught in the temples as one with authority who knew the material inside and out. He could connect the books & verses together to make the writings plain.
Many people of the day were not literate & they relied on the Pharises and Scribes to read, write & interpret for them..... and this is where the difficulty comes in .... added on to the old testament was 600 more writings & laws that were written by man (not certified prophets or people of god). It was these laws that made it burdensome for plain people to know if they committed a sin & what was necessary to atone.
So they had to curry favor with the scribes & Pharises in order to feel as though they were living right.
Simply put Jesus did not write anything in his time because it wasn't necessary ..... everything that was needed was already there in the old testament .... including his coming.
Jesus wanted people to believe on what his father said .... not "look at me and do what I say do".
So much of the good in religon is overshadowed by Humans who stand in front of the cross instead of standing behind it.

Yes, of course he was. Look at Matthew 4, where the account of his being tempted by Satan is found. What does he say to Satan after each temptation... "It is written". There's also the time he was reading publicly at the temple from the scroll of Isaiah and the saying the prophecies he had just read applied to him.
As far as writing? No. The writings were done by 40 men over a span of hundreds and hundreds of years under inspiration by Jesus's father, Jehovah.

well, i'm no theologian, but yes i am assuming he was literate;
considering the text that states when he was 12, he was teaching in the temple; and also, he was a rabbi. so he had to be able to read jewish law in order to teach it.
not a lot of people were literate in that day, but where jesus was from, [and also in Rome] a good portion could read.

I believe He was literate, but I don believe he ever wrote anything himself. He always had his followers do the transcription. I guess that is one of the mysteries we have to ponder. I have always wondered why Jesus didn't write some of the accounts himself.

Luke chapter 3 he questions the teachers in the temple courts at 12 years old and in Luke chapter 4 he reads effortlessly and interprets. Many are amazed at his teachings.

It kinda goes with being omniscient. But, he never wrote anything and probably never read anything, because He already knew what it said.

He certainly read from scrolls in the temple.
No writings (directly) attributed to him though.
