Only Tibetan Buddhism holds to reincarnation.
The older, Southern Buddhist schools describe our current existence as a series of countless rebirths from one moment into the next, one breath to the next, a very different idea, which does not grasp at a self that keeps going.
There is a very good book related to this by Stephen Batchelor called BUDDHISM WITHOUT BELIEFS that I have found very worthwhile.
Peace to you all,
;-)

Well since I already practice the philosophies of Buddhism (some days better than others), I'd go all out ,become a fundie and condemn the rest of you heathens to Hell.
Not really- but I had you going, didn't I?
Have a great night all!!!

Buddhism is the most eloquent argument against God I've come across. Like modern science and philosophy, it doesn't prove God doesn't exist, but rather shows that the postulation of God is not necessary. Unlike science and philosophy, it retains a spiritual, ethical and transformative practice that allows one to put an end to their existential suffering.

Buddhism or Hindusim. Both are very tolerant, very laid-back religions-- or doctrines, whatever the case may be. And in Buddhism, you don't even have to believe in Buddha as a deity. It can be more of a way of life than a god-worship.

If I'm going to be forced to have a religion, I'm choosing the most profitable one.

I would refuse to be forced.
No one can MAKE you believe something.....
If attending religious service was made mandatory, I'd refuse to do that too.
Sometimes you have to draw a line in the sand and not cross it. I am my own person, no one owns me, no one will force their thoughts, ideas or person upon me......period.
