Just as an outside observer watching the constant bickering between RCs and Protestant-based faiths, it just amazes me.

Correct me if I am wrong but according to the very public, accessible history of Christianity didn't the RC Church:

- Compile the Hebrew texts, and gospels that would comprise the bible and cannonize it as the Holy Word

- Ratify such things as: The Trinity, salvation, the Divinity of Jesus, Original Sin etc.

- Organize the basic structure of what a "church" and its leadership should follow.

Today aren't most Protestant faiths based upon this foundation (even if they revised it a little)?

So when they claim Catholics are not really "saved" and they are pagan etc. are they saying they got the basic precepts of Christianity and the bible from an "unsaved" source?

The LDS church teaches that in order to reach the Celestial Kingdom (the highest level of heaven) and be with God you must be endowed and sealed (married) in the Temple.

Why would God require that you wear special under-garments and learn secret handshakes to get to heaven?

I would love my children no matter what and let them be with me. I WOULD NOT require that they learn passwords and handshakes and wear special clothing. What does that have to do with love? Why would a loving God who you say loves his children keep billions of them away who don't know the secret pass?

EXAMPLE: You raise a child. The child grows, leaves home for a while, and then desperately wants to return to see you. Would you requre them to learn handshakes to see you?

It sounds rediculous to me.

I am a UK male in my early forties. I am not dissatisfied at 'my lot' as I am financially comfortable, own my own home and my not ill. However, excluding loyalties to the Country one was born in or friends and family, can anybody please tell me why we put up with living in the UK.

Taxes and duties are high (income tax, VAT, duty on petrol and alcohol etc, inheritance tax, even tax on the cost of flying out of the Country!)

We have put up with terrorism in one form or another for forty years

The cost of living etc is ridiculous with young people being unable to afford a house

Cost of running a car is astronomical (insurance for 18 year old for a small car £5k+, petrol £5 per gallon

Everywhere we drive there are traffic jams

If you are ill you cant get treatment as waiting list are long and getting longer

Crime rates are high, sentencing is weak (not enough prison places!)

Weather!

etc etc

Without telling me to 'stop moaning' can somebody please tell me why we stay in the UK.

Under the old covenant people had to follow the law and sacrifices to be forgiven. Under the law no man can be perfect. However with Jesus' sacrifice we are told that we are perfected. If purgatory ever existed isn't it likely that Jesus' sacrifice did away with the need for it?

Hebrews 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
Heb 10:13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
Heb 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
Heb 10:15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
Heb 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
Heb 10:17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Im wondering if maybe being gay is just psychological. Most gay guys (me included) have bad relationships with father figures and other stuff like that.
maybe if there was some credible genetic proof id feel better, but unless i find some, im getting some severe therapy to become straight. Other people have done it, so can I.
If you havent noticed by the tone of this question, I really don't like being gay.

google it, in hebrew the word allah means curse

Funny, no wonder why there was no mention of that name until 600 years after the death iof christ

The hebrew language is one of the oldest in the world, and allah ahs always meant curse in hebrew

so why after thousands of years, does God change his name meaning I AM in hebrew (as he is eternal and can not change) to ALLAH which means Curse?

when Jesus said he that brigns you a gospel other than this let him be accursed

what he was saying is, he that brings you another Gospel let him be allah

So imagine the dreasd on those Jews and chrsitians faces when people went round worshipping Allah all of a sudden in 600Ad

if you spoke hebreew you knew trhen and there it was astounding, why the Word Curse was used as a Deitys name

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light

So when Muhammed went round saying he sawe Gabriel, did he really?

For example, stating (like University of Delaware) that only whites are born racist, when in fact every race has racists. Or making a joke out of calling a white person "pasty" or dumb blonde jokes when it's NOT ok to make disparaging comments about other races? Because there's no shortage of possibilities for any race!
UNTIL THE DOUBLE STANDARD DIES, RACISM WILL LIVE
Do you agree?

I don't care about what people say about me, OK may be I do but just a little.

Just to give you an idea, in the past two years I changed from long hair to very short hair with stubble to long hair with stubble to shaven head with stubble to short hair clean shaven face.

Every time almost the same set of people keep on saying "you look better now" It's completely ridiculous. This proves. They lie all the time. People lie all the time. The compliments are nothing but a passing comment.

Don't you hate that?

I am a non-muslim living in a muslim majority country but i have never asked this question to my muslim friends as it is very sensitive over here to ask this type of question. Pork, alcohol, gambling are all prohibited in Islam but why are muslims observe stricter abstinence from pork than consuming alcohol or gambling. Muslims often feel uneasy even at the mere mention of the word " pork " but many do not hesitate to consume alcohol or gamble Is the sin of consuming pork more than consuming alcohol / gambling ? I know in Islam pig is regarded as a dirty animal and hazardous to humans. In today's world, smoking and drugs are life threathening acts but many Muslims indulge in them but at the same time do not consume pork. If Muslims do not eat pork because they think its dirty and will bring harm to their health why can't they think the same way for smoking and drugs ?

Please do not take this question negatively and answer with an open mind

How can God send us to purgatory to pay for our sins when He does not remember our sins? It is clear when we repent God forgives, forgets, and cleanses us from our sins. It says when we confess our sins He cleanses us from all unrighteousness. Why do we need to be cleansed from sin after death if He already cleansed us in life?

Jeremiah 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
