...I'm still a little offended that Abraham listened to an angel who said that God didn't want him to go through with the offering, when it was God Himself who ask him to do it....!

The good thing about that is He'll never ask us to sacrifice our loved ones as he did Abraham b/c Jesus was and is our sacrifice. The catch was not about sacrificing his son it was about faith and obedience that's why there was a ram in the bush b/c Isaac was a promise fulfilled. No more blood has to shed for the remission of sin it was finished when Jesus shed His. Praise God!

We love our children. I know I do with all my heart. It wasn't that easy for Abraham, but he did as he was told. He was OBEDIENT to God. God requires obedience from us, so I would have to do what He says. God tests us all the time in our lives to see if we are obedient. The story of Abraham and Isaac was to show how obedience works with God. If we are obedient, He will be faithful. Don't you think God loved Isaac as well? He was an obedient son also. This story is not just about Abraham and Isaac, however, it is about the One God sent to be sacrificed for all. Afterall, didn't God supply the pure and spotless Lamb?

That is why I am a weak Christian, my faith is not as strong as Abraham. When it comes to my torture or the sacrifice of a loved one, at this time I can not do it but I know not what the future holds.

I like ur other questions better.. this is to honest and hard to make a decision.. ??
If I remember right that was the old testament.. and ???
Well, not sure I would be the one to do the actual sacrificing... but I would say OK.. if God told me to do such.. Why would anyone want to disobey God's command..? I do know that one of the 10 commandments .. is.. Thy shall not kill.. so .. God would have something in mind..and I no he is a forgiving GOD... if he told me to do it..?? I would have to decide if GOD wanted to see if I would break one of the commandments ? or if I would disobey him????
Wait.. I have changed my mind !!!!!!!!!!!!!
No, I would not do it..
I rather disobey God.. and have my son.. !!!! than kill him and break one of the commandments....!!!!! FINAL ANSWER!!!!

There are some who do.
Not being Christian, I would go to a psychiatrist and ask them to prescribe some medication so I'll stop hearing voices.
Hmm. Doesn't that quote by Lagunda... contradict this?
II Thessalonians 2:11 'God shall send them strong delusion that they should believe a lie'.

A God that would need to play cruel games isn't worthy of love or worship. I wouldn't pretend to sacrifice my child to appease Him, that's why I think that story is false. It makes God look ridiculous. God can't be as petty as humans... He just can't be.

there grew to become into in common terms one Son that grew to become into promised from God. The older son, Ishmael grew to become into no longer from the promise or by a marriage. Sarah reported Abraham sleep together with her slave lady to get the son he wanted, thinking she could desire to no longer undergo a baby. This son grew to become into no longer the making or of the promise of God, yet by the making plans and schemeing of the human beings. They have been impatient or non-trusting in God's word and promise. In those days there have been diverse better halves, despite if, that grew to become into no longer the case in this tale. Hagar grew to become into in common terms a slave owned by Sarah. Sarah gave her consent for Abraham to have a baby together with her. truthfully, Hagar had no longer something to assert approximately it. simply by way those 2 sons got here to be, considered one of guy's making plans and the different interior the path of the promise of God.... those 2 sons are the beginning up of the cut up between the Judeo-Christian international and the Muslim international. You asked why God mentioned, "Take your in common terms son...." and this is the respond. Isaac grew to become into the only son God promised to furnish Abraham. that's recommended to bypass back and examine the full tale in Genesis and not in common terms pull out a verse right here and there.

If it was indeed "like he told Abraham" - then I wouldn't hesitate for a second. And by the way - I only HAVE one child. And by the way, I'm Jewish. If you actually knew the story and understood it, you wouldn't be asking stupid questions like this one. All you're doing is trying to upset people. Why don't you leave them alone? Or don't YOU believe in being decent to others who have done you no harm?
