For example, stating (like University of Delaware) that only whites are born racist, when in fact every race has racists. Or making a joke out of calling a white person "pasty" or dumb blonde jokes when it's NOT ok to make disparaging comments about other races? Because there's no shortage of possibilities for any race!
UNTIL THE DOUBLE STANDARD DIES, RACISM WILL LIVE
Do you agree?

>Do you agree?

Definitely.

>Will people ever accept that ANY DOUBLE STANDARD is unacceptable when it comes to RACISM?

Yes, someday they will. Exactly WHY they will when it happens, I can't really say. There are many things in our society (like religion, the sex taboo, and possibly racism) that are persistent enough that humans will probably never get over them; by the time we ALL get over them and ALL see the truth, we will have become more than human.

No, I don't agree at all. Racism is, by nature, illogical and unreasonable. There's always going to be a "if this would just happen" or "if they would just do this" to be trotted out as a justification of the unjustifiable. There are a variable cornucopia of double standards in our society and none of them are harped on to the extent that racial double standards (usually between blks and whts) are. Double standards should be unacceptable period not just in terms of race relations. Racism will end when we stop attributing so much value to the level of pigmentation is someone's skin and not a second before. All of these other "issues" are just smoke and mirrors.

For the record, no one is born racist. It's something that is taught.

it's sad, but it will take a while, if ever. it seems only the blacks think they are the only ones that have felt racism. I got a dose of it just this past weekend, but if I would have said something at the time I probably would have gotten an ear full or smacked.
I have a Friend that's been trying to get a job with the city and she was told through another Friend that works for the city she is the wrong color if she was black or Hispanic she would have been hired, sure enough a black person was hired and it is known that this person is not as well qualified.

aw jeanniep,You finally felt what others have been going through since childhood (sarcasm).
I do agree to a certain degree but it seems like the double standard is only stated when getting back for what is done to the person imposing it.What needs to stop is the pure racism made by the majority who its targeted at,then the 'double standard could be dealt with.
