My wife prefers that I bake both from scratch,

but being a lazy old man, I have not decided which I will do this year.

it all depends on whether I am inspired or not.

We are going out to a nice buffet for Thanksgiving dinner this year. Most of our family does prefer pumpkin pie, but we won't be baking or buying a ready made one.

We are going out to eat with family and I'm so excited. Most folks in these parts eat sweet potato pie, but I like pumpkin myself. Sometimes I buy the frozen pie, but I like to bake my own too.

Neither. I have a small pumpkin and a great recipe for a pumpkin casserole topped with a pecan glaze. I'll be making that instead. It's served as a vegetable side dish.

My pie of choice would be mincemeat or rhubarb.

I'll definitely be making pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving. We have about 25 people in our family and all the women will be pitching in. I hope I get to do the dressings: cornbread AND oyster. YUM! We're having turkey and ham of course. We've got oodles of little kids in the family and they're learning all the traditional things from us older ones.
