The world doesn't really need hope. It's in pretty good shape.
Indifferent to the numerous life-forms scattered across its surface, of course, which may not be in such great shape, bur the world's fine.
Humanity? I expect in due course civilisations will tumble. They often have. Lost cities and nations... From Asia to the Americas
People are more enduring. It will take something massive to wipe out the whole human race.
But that's a possibility too. We've got a long way to go before we beat the longevity of the dinosaurs. The extinct dinosaurs. We're not quite ready to stop a giant meteor or comet, yet.
So, I have *my life* and my interaction with other human beings. While I'm here.
And if we're going for myths, I'll have the one where, when I'm dead, a cute goth chick calls for me, and tells me: "The afterlife? NOW's when you get to find out."
(Thank you, Neil Gaiman)

Worst case scenario: No more people.
So not all that bad really. Life endures. Its obscenely stubborn. If we all die, just wait a few hundred thousand years and some other sentient race will come along. Poles have reversed before, hurricanes raged, volcanos exploded, tsunamis crashed.....its all been done. And yet here we are. I think it is safe to say that the Earth is pretty durable. Its a big rock, spinning in space, filled with superdense liquid iron. A few surface ripples won't do much really, and they definitely won't wipe all living things out.
Life endures. Its what it does. And it does it well.

\For Hindus there are 33 crores of gods to put their hope on. For the Muslims Allah the merciful only great god is there. for buddhist buddha is there and so on and so forth. Do not think that there is no hope for the world if one rejects jesus. Our mind is the most powerful thing in this world. If we accept some thing and have 100 percent faith that it will come to pass our subconcious mind has got the power to make it happen. For this power of the subconcious mind people call God or miracle or anything. He who lived once some 2000 years ago cannot help anyone. It is the play of your superconciousmind which makes you a strong or weak person. So pin the hope on your mind and try to make it strong. All gods will run away , once you understood the power of your subconscious mind. you know that nothing but your mind is the believer and the doer and all and nothing else. If not convinced read some books of the power of subconcious mind and see/ feel the fact.

>Do you have hope for the world?
Yes. I'm a strong believer in 'while there is life, there is hope'. Humans are still alive, and, it appears, still have the capacity for independent thought if they choose to exercise it. So yes, there is still hope.
>and if you reject Jesus who do you put your hope in?
Um...who said it's necessary to 'put your hope' in a person? I don't believe that it is any one person who is likely to come along and right the evils and injustices of this world. It might not even be any group of people. There are many ways in which things could be corrected, and not all of them require people, much less one single person, to make the first move. The idea that you have to put your hope in somebody is just another irrational christian thing that doesn't actually apply to the real world.
>Your days are numbered - if the predictions of ancient oracles.
Yeah, because what some witch doctors and schizophrenics said hundreds of years ago is obviously way more important than actual scientific and logical evidence. Or how about NOT? Seriously, I think it's high time we stopped wasting our time listening to ancient 'prophets' and started spending it actually working to correct our own problems.

Actually, I think this is a Natural phenomenon. This is how the Earth, and Nature, keep balance and change.
We can either take heed and see where it leads, or we can become extinct like the dinosaur.
I don't think that it has anything to do with Jesus or who I put my hope in though.
I don't view it as the end of the world. It may change our world. The natural disasters may claim lives. We are overpopulating the planet, maybe this is nature's way of taking population control into its own hands.

Honestly, i think in the end at some point it will be completely hopeless, life cannot shake off the universe forever, eventually, it will all die, and who knows life of some sort may start over again, i realize that all of my actions now are only for the good of those that preceed me, and that they have no outcome in the long run, and yes, i still choose to enjoy my life

Yes, I have hope for the world. I think that human's will eventually get their act together and start taking care of each other and the planet. I also have hope that we will someday get off this planet and spread through the galaxy. And, if we don't get our act together than I have hope that the planet will survive and the next race of beings might do better than we have.

What's the question?
Can we make a deal with everyone right now....in 2013, will every single person who believed the world would end in 2012 just stop talking for the rest of their lives? Seriously?

Yes. People in general and life. In myself. I don't need a god to have hope. I'm not that weak.
