When I answer questions in the Society and Culture section the bullfighting section appears at the top of the list. You cannot ask questions into that category though. Is bullfighting important enough to have it's own section on YA!

I, as an Atheist posting atheist answers, get most thumbs down in the early hours, and get most thumbs up and best answers in the afternoon or even in the evening....

Do you see this trend too?

I used to love watching them twirl around--made giving out stars so much more fun! Does yahoo not want us to enjoy giving stars anymore? Is starring sinful to the yahoo gods?

I am disabled. I take medication on a regular basis and I go to doctor's appointments regularly. I stay home while my husband works and take care of our home. Most people, when looking at me, don't know I'm disabled unless I tell them. It is a permanent disability and I have accepted that. I will always have little things that I need help with, but not to the point of needing constant supervision. I can take care of myself and others, but I cannot work.

My husband and I want to have a child. There is no chance that I can pass on my disability to a child. I have experience with babies and am known for my common sense and reliability. My doctors have said there's no problem with me having a child. Now that I am actively trying to conceive a child, however, one therapist has suddenly changed her mind and is telling me I'm “not ready.” She only sees me for 45 minutes every month and I don’t feel that’s enough for her to make such a judgment call.

No one practices spirituality as accurately as Jehovah's Witnesses. I too, used to be Baptist, Methodist, you name it!!!!!!! It should be a matter of how you serve, not who you are with!!!!!!! I chose the best; CAREFULLY!!!!!!!

Why would Adam need to eat if there was no death? Death came after he ate the from the tree of knowledge. Food only helps us stay alive. Adam was not going to die until he ate from the tree. Food was not keeping him alive. So why would he need to eat before he ate from the tree of knowledge?

Consider this hypothetically, please don't assume insult and please don't automatically react with the typical "That won't ever happen" response.

Suppose that a tomb is discovered that contains intact documents written in phoenician, aramaic or whatever, that detail the mythology behind Abrahamic religions and link it all back to a single mortal man, who's remains are also found there, whose name is written simply as 'YHWH'.

Would you conclude that this was a hoax, something set up by Satan and/or his followers? Would you dismiss it as irrelevant to your beliefs? Again, I don't mean to insult, I'm just turning the "what would you do if it was proven that God existed?" question around, but I would like serious answers more than upset Christians.

I found a rude question asked by an atheist and ONLY changed the wording from Christian to atheist and it got deleted for violating the guidelines. The atheist question is still available even though I tried to report it.

Or are the atheists in general just bigger crybabies that can't take the same level of abuse that the Christians do and therefore more report them?

And no, I am NOT a Christian and even though I point it out, people still are too ignorant to grasp that.

I fully expect to get lots of hate mail for just asking and this question will probably be deleted.

In my last question, few really answered this specific point?

Should one's personal opinions and beliefs mandate our laws when those beliefs are the majority of the populace?

My point being...I do not feel that fundamentalist Christians should be allowed to adopt children. I feel it is a terrible environment for those children to be raised. If that were the majority consensus, should we be allowed to enact laws to prohibit the fundamentalists from adopting?

Or, should our laws protect the freedoms of all...even those in the minority.

And, what about slavery. At one point, Southern Baptists among many religions thought slavery ordained by God. So, slavery was legal, because that was the majority opinion.

Should the majority always rule? Even when it is based on opinon or beliefs, that may not be shared by all?

I know this is a controversial subject and I will get some crazy answers but..i wanna know if there is anyone who feels the same way i do about this subject.
I was raised christian and married a man who taught me to think for myself. Now i found myself wondering how am i supposed to know what religion is true or real after research. its like growing up i was taught if i didn't accept christ as my savior bc a book told me to that was written by a bunch of men who wrote what they were feeling that day..or what god himself supposedly told them then i would be thrown into hell. scary thought..i guess what i am trying to say is how do you know whats right. what if there is one god and he loves all ppl and there isn't one specific religion that you should live by. what are your thoughts..

There are churches that claim that people can pray to Mary. But the Bible has very clear statements about the state of the dead i.e. that they cannot praise God or do anything. Their breath (pneuma) goes.
