I was reading scripture this morning as I usually do and these verses jumped out at me as a perfect description of the atheists of today. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 He knew about them 2000+ years ago! Isn't that amazing?
Also in 2nd Timothy 4:6-8 I found real blessed assurance. Isn't that very uplifting scripture?

God bless <><

What is the criteria for what is considered inspired and what is considered uninspired? Who determines how scripture is organized? By that I mean who determines how the books are put together and in what specific order they are placed?

What if there was somebody who kept saying negative things about the Bible, but had never actually read it for him/herself? Instead, this person bases his/her opinion on what he/she has been told and has read on the internet.

They wouldn't have much basis for that opinion, would they? Maybe if they sat down and read it they would still feel negatively, but you don't know until they actually read what they're criticizing.

Now I ask you, have you read the Golden Compass? Are you boycotting the movie based on something you were told, or read online? If you're so concerned about it, why not read it for yourself and then pass judgment?

(I know this isn't all Christians. I'm a Christian and I love those books. I've just seen so many questions lately from Christians saying we should reject the books/movie, yet when I ask they say they haven't read the books for themselves.)

Five cannibals get appointed as programmers in an IT company. During the welcoming ceremony the boss says: "You're all part of our team now. You can earn good money here, and you can go to the company canteen for something to eat. So don't trouble the other employees".

The cannibals promise not to trouble the other employees. Four weeks later the boss returns and says: "You're all working very hard, and I'm very satisfied with all of you. One of our cleaners has disappeared however. Do any of you know what happened to her?" The cannibals disavow all knowledge of the missing cleaner.

After the boss has left, the leader of the cannibals says to the others: "Which of you idiots ate the cleaner?" One of the cannibals raises his hand hesitantly, to which the leader of the cannibals says: "You FOOL! For four weeks we've been eating team leaders, managers, and project managers and no-one has noticed anything, and now YOU have to go and eat the cleaner!"

Why do you think the tunic Jesus wore, when he was crucified was so popular with the crowd? They cast lots to see who would get it after He had died.
John 19:23-24
23When the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.

24"Let's not tear it," they said to one another. "Let's decide by lot who will get it."
This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled which said,
"They divided my garments among them
and cast lots for my clothing."[a] So this is what the soldiers did.

-Do you know the meaning of this?

I asked this question the other day and got a few answers, but I'm still unsure...so Please help!

If I'm disfellowshiped, and another person is disfellowshiped ( they got df before I did) and we were involved with each other, but in my meeting I did not mention that person by name, should I go back to the brothers/elders and mention it? Or should I leave it be, they were df for the same act(s).What would you do?

It's in D&C 121:45

It says:

"Let thy bowels also be full of charity towards all men, and to the household of faith, and let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly; then shall thy confidence wax strong in the presence of God; and the doctrine of the priesthood; shall distil upon thy soul as the dews from heaven."

I was wondering What is the household of faith?

Also what does this scripture mean to you?

Thanks a million for your input!!!

* Buy a mens magazine for him because he wanted to check out some famous celeb but would not be seen going into a adult book store

* Sent to the store to buy Midol for HER

* Sent to a gay owned carwash because he heard they did a great job but did NOT want to be seen there

The bible contradicts itself a lot on this point...Examples below

Psalm 96:4
For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.

AND

1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Law: is getting old and faulty, "ready to v-anish": Heb 8:13
Grace: is getting ppl perfect, ready for v-ictory: Heb 13:25

Christ is the end of the law: Romans 10:4.
Christ isn't right "standing" on high, as Jesus is in Acts.
Christ right "seated" above: higher than the heavens: Col3.
Seated denotes a law vs grace matter is for ever "settled".

Victory over death...get over law of sin and death?
Only law IMPutes sin: Rom 4:15; 5:13; 2Cor5:18,19.
Law IMPuted sin results in death, not life: James 1:15.
Law is the strength of sin's death sting: 1Cor 15:56?
Perhaps only way to avoid the "sting" is flush the law?
