Can you please define "destiny?"

I don't even believe in destiny. Your current condition is the result of your past choices and of external events that you could not predict or control. Choice is something of an illusion, though, not because of some overaching unavoidable supernatural fate, but simply because no choice is made with perfect information, and without perfect information, a choice will have unforseen consequences...

Destiny is a result of the choices we make in response to what fate has dealt us.

There's a certain word for what I believe, but I don't remember what it was..

I believe that we become who we are by the choices we make, but also by our surroundings. Some things you had no choice in, like where you grew up, are a huge influence on you, but you had no choice on where you lived. Then it comes to if that path was laid out for you, and I don't believe that. I think it's simply an outside influence.

Choice. Fate in the strict interpretation = puppets and people are not God's puppets. Destiny is chosen, decision by decision.

You can have everything going for you and then a car accidentally runs over you. We all can control our lives to some degree but then the fates are always free to intervene. That is just the way it is. Of course the younger you are the more control over your life you think you have. You cannot entirely control anything.

My choices. Had I made different choices, my life would have turned out completely different. Sure, it seems like fate sometimes...but the truth of the matter is, if I'd never met, say, my best friend...I would never know I hadn't met her, and thus, wouldn't miss her.

I believe that your "destiny" is determined by you in the interlife, (the time between lives), depending on what lessons need to be learned in this life. I believe that we each have an obligation to achieve the goals that are set forth by God, to share everlasting life with Him in heaven. I believe that the way we do this is to live however many lives are required in order to get it right. Therefore,I believe that our destiny is set, before we are born into any life, in order to accomplish our overall destiny, to share Heaven with our Creator.

I believe it is the choice you make, however, I think there is a grain of truth when it comes to Karma and past lives...

I choose to believe it's my choices.

If Fate wants to take a dump on my life, fine; but I'm not going to give it my cooperation in doing so.
