Do you give them candy or explain why you're not? Not answer the door? Turn off all the lights and put the car in the garage?

Based on this article from todays news, I'd be tempted to tell them to go home and put on some clothes. But this is an easy one for me. Where I live, there are no trick or treaters.

I want my kids to learn about life from an agnostic point of view - the topic of death for example: I don't want their heads being filled with nonsense of an afterlife (ie. heaven, angels, nirvana...).

Any suggestions of childrens stories that tell about the natural cycles of life and death?

thanks

I John 1:5: "God is light, and in him is no darkness at all . . . If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another."
But:
Then spake Solomon, the Lord said that he would dwell in the thick darkness." (I Kings 8:12. Repeated in II Chronicles 6:1) "And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies." (II Samuel 22:12) "He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies." (Psalm 18:11) "The Lord reigneth; let the earth rejoice . . . clouds and darkness are round about him." (Psalm 97:1-2)
So is he god of light or what? And if he is but he lives in the dark, surely he illuminates only himself.

god sends his son to die there in its self is a major sin for people who he created in his own image i think god is just a egotistic man that did not want to see his experiment fail.

In Scripture, a person's name sometimes included his occupation. For instance "Simon the tanner". So with that rule in mind, let's have a little fun.
What would your name be?

Mine would be, "Primo the accounts payable dude"

This article shows the old battling the new. I'm not taking the side of WND here, I posted it mainly to show what is going on:
http://wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=58405

The doctrines of old battling the wisdom of the new. Kind of like what I do. Though I wonder what's wrong with a purpose driven church? I believe we all forgot our purpose in christianity.

Just because this guy has a new age background right away he is bad... That doesn't jive with me.

What do you make of this? What are your opinions?

I am afraid, that with all the things that have been going on the site is not longer fun. It used to be. I will miss many, many of you, and some have my email, and if anyone wants to keep incontact, I would be so happy. So to you all-
"The Temptations
Goodbye, no use leading with our chins

This is where our story ends
Never lovers, ever friends
Goodbye, let our hearts call it a day
But before you walk away
I sincerely want to say:-

I wish you bluebirds in the spring
To give your heart a song to sing
And then a kiss, but more than this
I wish you love
And in July a lemonade
To cool you in some leafy glade
I wish you health
But more than wealth
I wish you love
My breaking heart and I agree
That you and I could never be
So with my best
My very best
I set you free
I wish you shelter from the storm
A cozy fire to keep you warm
But most of all when snowflakes fall
I wish you love"

Keep in touch My Love to ALL
justme/Annelle,

How do you feel knowing there's proof that the earth is 4.6 billions years old, objecting to the other age of the earth in the bible, and things like dinosaur fossils and monkeys deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) being 95%+ the same as Human DNA. Basicly the evidence of evolution,

I asked my religion teacher and he said an answer completely off the topic and not understandable

surely due to pride, phobias of kneeling, and many other reasons, many will refuse to kneel before god after the apocalypse. how will he force them?

will it be like "master of puppets" style? and he'll blast his bright light of glory at them and be like "Obey your Master!"? that's my theory. what do u think?

just look at the mental damage that the Bible has caused to these poor Bible-fundies!

because of the Bible, these Bible-fundies believe the earth is only 6,000 years old, and they don't believe that dinosaurs existed as well regardless of the dinosaur fossils shown as evidenced to their existence!

Bible-fundies also believe that there's going to be a rapture that's going to happen where they will all fly to heaven and meet God.

what now? there are very few mental institutions compared to the mentally-challenged Bible-fundies who are in desperate need of mental help, how can those mental institutions accomodate all of them?
