Oh, come on, haven't you figured that out that humans actually think of nudity below their subconsciousness.
In the era of Victorians, people dressed in multiple layers. Thick gowns, jackets and vests, even their underwear looks more than todays pajamas. As the time flies, clothing designs are shifting. For women especially, wide skirts had changed to loose skirts, trousers and pants were introduced. Then skirts becoming shorter, blouse turns to tank-tops, and even 1 piece bathing suit turns into skimpy bikini strings! The bold line is they are cutting off their suits. In the era of 2000, european designers introduced 'Nudo', or nude designs, using sheer or thin materials revealing more of human body.
Late 80s to 90s, women wore push up bras and low cut blouse revealing their cleavage to bring more sensualities. At the beginning of 21st century, low cut pants, hips shorts are introduced where they unleash upper part of butts.
At the age of 1930's, we couldn't imagine what people would say if they saw a girl wearing tank-top and low-cut jeans with low-rider panties. Not to mention the hot pants. Even the sex commercial workers at that time didn't wear them.
The time changes, the trend follows, but they are proven to be more daring today. Surprisingly, these models are sold at market without difficulties, that means that youth today have no problems with that.
What would be next trend in another twenty years. Don't you expect to see more strings or skimpy bras that only fits to cover your darker circles? Or nudity will be commonly accepted in certain areas like pools or beaches without being separated as nude beach or public common beach like today?
People wants nudity. The only reason they haven't done it yet earlier is because their social culture consequences prevent them from it.

I believe that they feel that their bodies are nothing to be ashamed of and that it's not inappropriate to show children naked bodies. They would probably argue "Heavens, it's just the body they will have in a few years, nothing inappropriate or less natural than that." And while I personally enjoy clothes, they may find them uncomfortable (the feel of the cloth of the skin, the way the fabric bunches up, etc.) I feel that nudists do me no harm, let them do what they want.

why should nudists or anyone else have to "justify" anything to you. ppl do what's best for them. thier is nothing wrong w/ the naked form, as far as children, they to have the same parts and they will grow up not feeling ashamed of their bodies realizing that genitals are just another body part. i'm not a nudists but I don't begrudge ppl who are.

Nobody "invented nudism", as we are born that way.
People "invented" clothes.

That's how we were born. It's religious cultures that made people ashamed of their nude bodies.

Nudism, a.k.a Naturism, originated in 20th century Germany as a way of protesting against strict Victorian rules. German immigrant, Kurt Barthel, organized a picnic in New York in 1929, which brought the nudist movement in the United States. For anyone who may contend that nudism is for the purposes of attention and sexual gratification: The practice of nudism is purposely very much NON-EROTIC and NON-SEXUAL. It's for personal comfort and a stronger sense of freedom. And there is the belief that nudism helps with self-esteem, relaxation, overall well-being, and so on.
Being capable of doing things with or without clothes on isn't the point of nudism. Perhaps some nudists believe that, due to their own sense of well-being while nude, they are able to function in a manner that renders them able to do things that they couldn't otherwise do. But, again, this isn't the point. Nudism isn't for the purpose of achievement. Nor does nudism promote the mere state of being nude. It seeks to urge the adoption of body acceptance via a clothing-optional lifestyle/culture.
I understand your curiosity and respect you for asking questions in an effort to comprehend nudism as opposed to bashing. There are laws in place to "protect" the general public from viewing what they don't wish to see. So it isn't as though any of us have to worry about nudists forcing their naked bodies upon our unsuspecting eyes. We are completely unaffected by their lifestyle choice. As far as their children are concerned, they feel that their children aren't negatively impacted by this; because, unlike society in general, they teach their children to take comfort and pride in their bodies. Children learn to associate the naked body with sex and shame due to what society teaches them. Nudists strive to undo this and show their children that society's views of the human body are tainted.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Monday, October 16, 2006
NATURIST EDUCATION FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES RESULTS OF NATIONWIDE ROPER POLL ON SKINNY-DIPPING AND NUDE SUNBATHING
OSHKOSH, Wisconsin - A new nationwide poll commissioned by the Naturist Education Foundation (NEF) and conducted by the prestigious polling firm of Roper Public Affairs, indicates that close to three-quarters of Americans approve of nude sunbathing on beaches set aside for that
purpose.
In the scientific sampling of 1009 U.S. adults conducted recently by Roper, 74 percent of those polled said they believed people who enjoy nude sunbathing should be able to do so without interference from local officials as long as they do so at a beach that is accepted for that purpose. The sustained high approval rating for nude beaches is up slightly from the 72% who responded favorably to an identical poll
question posed by Gallup in 1983, and off a bit from the high of 80% who approved in a 2000 poll commissioned by NEF and administered by Roper.
The NEF/Roper Poll 2006 was conducted September 8th-10th, 2006, and surveyed 1,009 adult U.S. residents. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points. Roper Public Affairs is a subsidiary of GfK NOP, LLC, an international research business.
Responses to other questions in the poll suggest that more than 55 million Americans have, at one time or another, skinny-dipped or sunbathed nude in mixed-gender groups.
A majority of Americans favor the proposal that a portion of public land should be set aside by governments for nude recreation, as is often done for other special recreation interests like snowmobiling, surfing and hunting. Approval for government designation of clothing-optional areas has risen from 39% in 1983 to 48% in 2000, and has reached 54% in the 2006 survey.
"Public approval has been building continually for designating clothing-optional areas," noted NEF Chair Bob Morton. "But governmental agencies have been slow to respond to the emerging demand. This updated poll demonstrates that the trend is certainly no fluke. A majority now expects governments to respond."
The Naturist Education Foundation, Inc. is the nonprofit educational and informational adjunct to The Naturist Society, an organization with thousands of members who enjoy nude recreation throughout the U.S. and Canada. By gathering and disseminating information, NEF promotes body acceptance and an understanding of naturist issues.
