Here is what the Bible teaches...
1 Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

I can only answer for myself. I can not make an outward appearance if I am anonymous. However, even if I were not, that is not my motive for this. I participate in this forum to share the good news of God's Kingdom and to help sincere people with their Bible-based questions. (Matthew 24:14; Matthew 28:19-20) I also enjoy reading the questions and responses from my Christian brothers and sisters.
I do think of the internet and YA as a sort of ultramodern "marketplace" and thus a good place to give a witness. (See Acts 17:16-17)

I like to answer questions because of altruistic motives. I want to help make this world a better place.
To me it isn't about having the answer, it is about possibly helping another human being sort things out and end up happier.

I think it's a good thing to be open to difference of opinion. It gives an open market of choices.
