Everybody else would have to sign it, too, regardless of religion. Then everybody would still go ahead and do whatever they want for worshipping, etcetera, but you would sign something saying all Relgions, including Islam, are equally true with Christianity. Muslems would sign it, too, saying they officially recognize that Christianity is equally true with Islam.

I'm not saying it's plausible--but if it was, and we knew 100% for sure that it would cause world wide peace, would you be willing to put your own beliefs aside just to sign this one official document. It wouldn't mean you didn't still love Baby Jesus.

Maybe god doesn't understand the human psyche, because there was most assuredly some trauma he suffered for the rest of his life. Who can lose their family and everything they own, suffer diseases and not come through unscathed? Even if he was rewarded with a new family and great riches do you think he was truly happy? Did Job have no attachment to his first family? According to god and satan he had a great family first and was pretty happy. Was he really blessed in the end? Or did he just recieve a consolation prize for suffering god's callousness?

Has anyone seen it--or done it? I know that when I was first out as bi, I also had just met my first girlfriend (who is now my wife), and I wanted to talk about those things to *everybody*. I've seen newly out lesbians go from conventionally feminine to full-out diesel in a week, and I've definitely seen newly out gay men overgay it at first before throttling back.

This Onion article reminded me:

Many of you have said that "God is incorporeal and lives in a different dimension", so how can an incorporeal being have a "right hand"?

Or is it yet another metaphor for something you can't figure out yet?

From their dealings with world powers, which they are not supposed to be a part of, to their clergy men, men who are supposed to be men of godly devotion but decide that its ok to molest little children and then cover up for each other. It is easy to see that they don’t teach honest hearted people the truth but teach out of their own doctrines which are not based on Gods word the Bible.... I’m not trying to insult anybody, I’m just trying to see if anyone else feels the same way. It is even known that during World War II the pope then was backing Hitler and his Nazi regime. Now that is insulting to me!! I know that God and his son Jesus must look down on them for misleading their flock.... Please some let me know how you feel.

Daniel 12: 11-13:
11 "From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.

To go with me friend's ΚαταЋσЮs date question.

I've been trying to decipher these scriptures from Daniel for many years. The other day, as I was reading these passages, this came to me:

Daniel says there will be 1290 years from the time the abomination that makes desolate is set up. Then he goes on to say "blessed is he who waits until the 1335 days". When I subtracted these two (1335-1290) I got 45. So if we then take the year the Seven-day War was fought, and Israel once again controlled Jerusalem (a Bibical prophecy--year 1967), and add the 45 days to it, we get 2012, which is the year the Mayan calender ends.

1335-1290=45+1967=2012

I know no one can predict the return of Christ, but I found this quite interesting.

Comments?

every person in every decision choses the option they think will make their life better. when confronted with a fork in the road, no one opts for the path that they think will lead to an unhappier life.

how do we make decisions? based on our intelligence, reasoning, logic....all things we received genetically. so...no alternate decisions could have ever been made in your past. unless you made a decision where you tried to make your life worse.....

god knows how we die...when we die....and what we accomplished even as we discuss this. our life is already come and gone in his eyes.

so why do people think we have free will? no one thinks they can prove free will, do they? prove you could have made any other decision than to read this. you couldn't have. this is the only thing you possibly could be doing right now. there was no other way. you were predestined to read my words.

....on the street, giving out leaflets, just like the Christians do and the Muslims too. He could claim, tongue in cheek, to represent the Almighty Thud. Yada yada yada. I reckon online he'd get away with it, and people would notice the irreverant sarcastic humour, but on the streets they would want to lock him up. Why the difference? Should there be a legal right? Lets assume he's only taking the ****, and doesn't really have "delusions." Are we really a free society, or are the orthodox faithful potentially too violent and serious to allow such a thing to occur?

For those who say that natural disasters "have nothing to do with God"...is it because God doesn't send judgment or because we are not deserving of judgment?

Doesn't the Bible talk about God's judgment in both the Old and New Testaments, and aren't we all deserving of it (myself very much included)? In fact, didn't God bring judgment upon many, including Job who even lost his family but was blessed in the end? I am not overlooking God's mercy or His perfect love and wisdom, but perhaps questioning man's arrogance in thinking he is above discipline from God (or his ignorance in thinking God would not discipline His children)...

Christians, when you tell others to read the Bible do you include the Talmud in that advice? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talmud

Have you read it?

Did you know that the Catholic Apocrypha includes it as one of the most important things to read if you are learning about the bible?

Protestants did you know that Martin Luther included it in his bible as the Middle Testament and wanted everyone to read it?

Does it make you sad that one of the main reasons it is left out of modern bibles is because doing so decreases printing costs?

I truly do not wish to offend I am just trying to increase my understanding of your religion. OK so here is my thought on the topic of God. If there is an ALL powerful, Omniscent, being do you think he would really have emotions? Wouldn't that in turn just degrade him to any other human being? What is the Christian veiw on this?

Quotes. Why is that? That seems intolerent to me.
I asked for no Bible quotes because I do not follow the bible, and therefore they wouldnt help me.
I wanted an answer from the individual's own persepctive, not the bibles
So why cant people answer without the Bible?
Should I stop asking questions because people cant answer without using the Bible
Are people THAT Closeminded?

We live in base housing on an Air Force Base. We went to the Fall Festival held for base housing occupants only. One of the door prizes was a months free rent. When they drew the name, they announced that the woman that won had also won the YEAR'S free rent at the Christmas party the year before! So she won another month of free rent even though she's already receiving free rent through the end of this year (as has been all year). In my opinion, she should have not been eligible to win the prize again, ESPECIALLY while she's already receiving it! I called to ask about their rules on the matter and they were REALLY rude. They said "its discrimination to tell her she can't win it again and that's illegal." lol

Am I just being jealous or do I have something to be legitimately upset about? I know "its not fair" is so cliche', but it really isn't fair! lol

Some say "spiritual" life begins at conception. However, twins dispute this. Shortly after fertilization, the embryo splits to create more than one life. Now each twin is going to have their own soul. Do you believe the soul splits equally to each individual? Or do you believe we do not receive our soul at conception?
