Even if you think it all came about natural selection...the selection thats available must have an origin.

All I know is that scientists look at nature to help us improve technology all the time. There is a great book titled "Wild Technology" by Phil Gates which talks about this.

So where is the origin of Natures designs and technology?

Nowadays there are many people who are so rich and powerful but they're still attached to this worldly happiness. Many do a lot of giving and charity just in order to receive more worldly happiness in future according to Karma principle but not think about getting rid of disturbing emotions in mind, which lead to endless rebirth. This worldly happiness must certainly disappear one day. You're rich and powerful in this life because you did giving in your last life but you don't think of creating karma resulting in wise personality in every next life until nirvana. Many rich people are greedy and stingy and insatiable by investing more and more endlessly and their mind only think of how to make more money all the time but they don't think of what to do to get to eternal happiness. I think that the best perfection is to purify one's mind because only pure mind can lead to nirvana. Can u tell me CONCRETELY what I should do in this life to have a wise mind every life until nirvana?

I say WE DO remember. We remember our talents, our skills and our knowledge. We bring with us from past life our personality, which is adjusted to the new situation (environment, family and traumas). We bring our tendencies from past life, too.

We only forget what is irrelevant for our progress. It is not important to remember who we loved, who we hated, how we died, who we killed (for example). That's not going to help us in anything.

Reincarnation is like a diamond being cut; like the wood being carved by the hands of the artist. The pieces left over are not important, but the precious result; the master piece is what matters.

Understood?

I'm an atheist in the sense that I don't believe in anything supernatural, including god/gods, religions, mythologies and fairy tales. I'm agnostic in the sense that I acknowledge the unknown. Meaning, I recognize that there are some things out there that I probably can never understand.

I think some people make the mistake of thinking all atheists are nihilistic... I don't think that this is true at all. All "atheist" means is NOT being a theist... that's all.

Up until now many people were in closed cultures and did not let women get educated etc. Now with the internet they are seeing and hearing other ideas which should let them see that Muhammad made up the whole religion to abuse women and slaves. Are they seeing this?

I am an Evanglical Christian and I believe that God will not allow Isreal (the country) to be destroyed. However, I could be wrong about that. I would like to open this discussion again with only people who are fluent in Bible Prophecy. I need you to quote me Book, Chapter and Verses for your answers and reasons for what you tell me.
I always believed that Isreal would gain complete independence, freedom and rebuild the Temple (where the dome of the rock now stands) and get the area surrounding the Temple back from the Muslims. And then the Tribulation will begin...
Is this accurate ...please help, and once again, I STRESS only people who have fluent and complete as possible bible prophecy in tact with their answers...

I am asking this becaue obviously the situation with President Bush and Iran over Isreal is escalating and I know I could call my Pastor but it is too late and I don't want to wake him right now. Please respond soon.

Why are so many people Christian, Muslim, or Jewish? I have respect for those religions, but why are only a small part of the world's population Pastafarian?

Does the Anti-Pasta lead people into forming other religions? This is a serious question. The only way to avoid being dunked in boiling pasta sauce for all eternity is to be a Pastafarian.

Logically, I think it may make sense for the Anti-Pasta to inspire people to form other religions.

Was Christianity inspired by the Anti-Pasta?

What about Judaism?

Ok my step dad molested me when I was younger. I didnt tell anyone until I met my bf and we dated for a while I knew I could trust him and so he was the only one to know. My mom and step dad live in a differnt state then me so the one night I asked my mom is she thiks ppl should be punished for the things they do bad and then I said that my step dad did something and its hard for me to forgive him. She asked what and I said I wouldnt tell her cause she might not believe me and that my step dad had to say what he did so she knew it was true. He did admit to doing it and my mom comforted me that night but after that night things went back to normal and she is still with him and loves him. She and My step dad are Christian and I undertand that ppl make misstakes. She says we need to forgive. But I am so upset and sad about this whole thing. I finaly told her after I wanted to for so long and now I wish I didnt even say anything.

How many of you believe that being gay is a choice? I know it's not--I sure didn't choose to be this way, I hate being harassed for who I am on a daily basis. Anyway, how many of you base your belief that it is a choice on the Church? If you do, I am informing you that you are mistaken! The Catechism of the Catholic Church clearly states "They do not choose their homosexual condition" (article 2358). I don't believe that it's a condition/disease...

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think it is a choice?

I know when its catholic bashing hour(s) I feel the need to try and have people understand what the church is about, so I do feel a need to defend it. Does anyone else feel like sometimes they have to do that? even atheists, im just courious.

I've seen some creative beggars. A homeless man in SF hides behind a bush and jumps out at passing families, scaring them and amusing spectators for money.

Could you think of a creative way like that entrepreneur to make a lot of money begging?

I use to wonder why they would think that about us, but if all they see about the USA are things like that mockery the homosexuals made of the last supper and they believe that we are going to take over there countries and force them to accept new laws that allow their god to be made a mockery of, then can we blame
them for fighting the way they do?

* I'm not saying that I defend them this just crossed my mind and was wondering if any one else had thought about it like that
(my son has been to Iraq and I know other young men that have been there and they have said that it is getting better over there)

It is fact. Parents give more attention to children that are trouble-makers, rebellious, disobedient...

So, God, as our Creator and father, probably gives more attention to non-believers than us believers.

That's OK for me... I understand that my rebellious brothers and sisters need more attention.

What about you? Do you mind?
