To achieve something in one's life especially in tough situations and winning over them makes someone a winner. Being a winner comes in different diversities, situations, opportunities and perhaps lifestyles.Why do you consider yourself a winner, should there be any cues or guidelines to be winners, or it is only about."No guts, No glory" thing?

I wrote a blog in reaction to the myths I have encountered regarding homosexuals. Please add other misconceptions. I want to use them on GSA posters on my college campus. I would also like to include myths about bisexuals and transgendered individuals. Please help, it's for a good cause. Here's what I wrote:

1. Homosexuality is not a choice.
2. It's not a mental illness or a disease.
3. It's not an addiction that can be overcome.
4. No reparative therapy known to man can make me straight.
5. I was not physically, sexually, or emotionally abused as a child. I was not ignored by my mother and seek love in other women to fill the void.
6. I did not have a bad experience with men and turn to women.
7. No, it's not that I haven't found a well enough endowed male.

I am attemptiing to learn Mandarian chinese ( I know its not oftern called that now but couldnt remember what it is called now sorry) but have got confused over what type of characters to learn.. I downloaded electronic flashcards and they have 4 setsTraditional (common),Tradtional (full), Simplified (common) and Simplified (full).Which should i learn?
Which is the most used in China in schools and on street signs menus and on tv shows etc. I dont want to do the simple ones if that is not in reality what is most frequently used. Someone suggest i leave the symbols and stuck to pinyin I do not want to do this and besides im dyslexic i find the pinyin harder lol!!

But I was a bad person, lying, cheating, stealing, and all that horrible stuff, and I showed no remorse for all my sins, would he be allowed to take my soul (assuming he made the cut) into heaven with him? Or would the contract be voided and he be refunded one sprinkle free donut?

Disney is putting out an animated movie called the Ten Commandments. The only thing is they have decided that they do not want God mentioned in advertising of any sort; even though it is about God, literally! So, I am curious as to why we live in a country where 75% claim Christianity (I dont buy it) but we have God removed out of something like a movie that is actually about the Big Guy Himself? I have been mystified as to why we have so little representation in any sort of movie, music, television, etc if God is so popular. I cannot help but think we are becoming more and more secular, though others believe we are becoming more fundamentalist. Could we agree on fundamentally secular? lol Seriously though, I would love to hear from all beliefs or lack thereof what your thought is of Disney eliminating God out of advertising for a movie about Him, or even our mainstream media in general about this very thing. God's peace :)

My father's side of the family is all Protestant Christian, with the exception of my Catholic grandmother. Before that my family was Anglican and also freemasons. My mothers side is weird, and believes in communicating with the dead, and my mom (who raised me) frequently mocks my religious beliefs and tries telling me about how ghosts are communicating to her.

I don't know what to do about buying gifts for my nephews' live-in girlfriends. On one hand, I feel like it would be rude not to buy them anything. However, I haven't met one of them (although I will meet her before Christmas and they are officially engaged as of yesterday) and the other one I cannot stand and therefore don't actually want to buy her anything at all! I think now that nephew #1 is engaged means that his significant other should rate higher than a live-in girlfriend and that maybe I should buy her a little something but I know this will hurt nephew #2's girlfriend's feelings if she found out but truth be told I don't want to spend a nickel on her!

I have thought about giving them both a consumable gift, like Christmas cookies or caramel corn as a joint present with the boys so feelings don't get hurt but I am not sure if this is acceptable.

How should I approach this potentially sticky situation?

Many of us not aware religion is not spirituality. Because religion is based on the physical self[matter] whereas Spirituality is based on the spirit which is the true self or identity.
Religion conditions the mind in to man. Spirituality de- conditions the mind back to spirit. Therefore it is necessary to know the difference between the religion and spirituality to unfold the mystery of our own existence.

B) Speak up
C) Get into a heated debate over religion right then and there
D)Report it to Human Resources since it is religious discrimination

I only ask because at work today, an athiest just started in about how Christians are fools and the Bible is just a book. Then he and another co-worker began to get into a debate over God vs Science, and although I am a Christian, I don't believe that work is the place for that. What do you think?

I'm not saying their IDEAS are wrong, just that their facts are way off base in most cases.

Would any of you ever vote for a Mormon candidate for president (i.e., Romney)? Personally, even though Romney may be a great guy, the Latter-Day Saints Church is scary crazy and I could not place my trust in anyone who bought into their propaganda. No offense against any Mormons out there. But the LDS Church literally brainwashes its members from birth to automatically reject ANY contradiction of the Mormon faith, no matter how factual it may be.

For example, the Mormon holy book called the Pearl of Great Price is largely based on Joseph Smith's "interpretation" of some ancient Egyptian papyri. Later on, a real translation of those papyri was done, and suffice it to say that Smith's version was absolute gobbledeygook. Just one example.

Just curious what everyone else thinks - I grew up in a VERY Mormon town, and as the outsider looking in, it was easy to see through all the crazy stuff.

i don't think ellen is as hurt and upset about her dog getting taken back from the family. as much as she cares about the two little girls that she accidentially upsetted by giving them a loving company then having it taken away from them. so people should stop sayiong its just a dog problem blowing out of proportion. but her caring act turned out in a bad way. what do you think about this incident?
