i don't think ellen is as hurt and upset about her dog getting taken back from the family. as much as she cares about the two little girls that she accidentially upsetted by giving them a loving company then having it taken away from them. so people should stop sayiong its just a dog problem blowing out of proportion. but her caring act turned out in a bad way. what do you think about this incident?

She broke her word when she broke the contract that she signed. She should have kept her word, or bought the contract from the adoption agency.

She has no excuse for her actions. And she should have known better.

I think it was wrong to take the dog away. Lots of people transfer ownership of pets. I also think the fact that the shelter told Ellen the dog wasn't hers because the microchip embedded in the dog didn't have her name on it is a load of BS! She had the dog for a month! Her name should have been put on the very day she walked away with the dog!

I got my first dog from my aunt when I was 5 years old (in the same situation as Ellen. My sister and I loved the dog so much). And the dog still loved our family either way...she never once exhibited signs of "Oh my god I was given away!" syndrome! That's the good thing about dogs! They're always so energetic and excited to see you no matter what! I mean no matter how much you think people at work are crapping all over you - you come home and here's this dog that's so excited and happy to see you and you know that she's the one "person" who really cares about you in that moment of your life.

I completely agree with you. She had all the best intentions & was sad for the family & the poor puppy. She tried to keep him but he just didn't get along with the other animals so she found him a good home with someone she knew well. I think it's good the placement companies screen to make sure they are going to a good home. BUT there is a limit. My heart goes out to Ellen & the other family.
To those that don't have "human" children. Cats & dogs are our kids. Some people still feel the same after the "human" chiild is born. Other's forget about the "sweet little pet" & leave them outdoors chained up. (wish we could chain THOSE people up)

I think Ellen has a really big heart, I also think she was very sincere about what she said also. I really didn't think it was that big of a deal. The dog was being loved and properly cared for. I think that's all that truly matters. After all, it was Ellen's dog. I feel that if a person pays for it, they should be able to do what they want with it. The people should have made sure Ellen knew what would happen if she got rid of the dog. Taking the dog away from a loving family is what I call animal cruelty!

She wants to say that it was such a wonderful dog but why did she give it away? The story was that the dog was "too energetic" for her family and her cats. Well, what did she expect? Its a puppy and that's what puppies do. I guess in this world where everything is temporary, it's ok to get rid of a living being if that living being is not comforming to what is easy and safe.

I find Ellen insulting and uncaring for the most important player involved, the puppy. The puppy was bounced from it's original home to a shelter, then to Ellens home, then to the hairdressers home and back to the shelter. Now the puppy is at a new home.

That poor puppy doesn't know where it belongs......

She says she spend 1000s of dollars on the dog. It's already overkill. She broke the agreement she had with the shelter.

Let her get the girls another dog. They'll get over the last one and like this one too .... unless they wanna be little drama queens.

I think it was a dog.

A DOG.

Not a baby.

Not a house.

A freaking pet.

She needs to get over it, the family needs to get over it, the adoption agency needs to get over it, and the rabid fans never should have had anything to do with it in the first damn place.
