Don't tie yourself to either. Learn to study exegetically then see how pure Calvin and pure Wesley stand up to pure Bible. You may be surprised that neither fit you exactly.

May I recommend a Book that gives excellent methods of study without theological leanings? "Living By the Book" by Howard Hendricks is just such a tool. You may also try, "How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth" by Fee and Stuart.

edit-- huge differences between the two. I will give a couple: Wesley believed that we are all born with a divine spark that could be fanned into the flame of salvation, Calvin believed in our total depravity from birth

Wesley believed that you could lose your salvation by sinning, Calvin believed that you were eternally secure.

There are many other things but that is a start.

No - that won't do. Wesley was an Arminianist. Stick to Calvin.

Hi Tiffany,
Sorry to answer a question with a question, but what's the difference between those two?
God bless you.
