I have read in several sources that he was not a member of the Catholic Church but worked with them in his missionary efforts. They actually had problems with him because he would use the moneys he collected on the local poor and not send it in to the Catholic church. Any thoughts on his membership?

Atheists-
What if during your lifetime the rapture took place and you did not believe in God and you found out that God was in fact real. I know alot of atheists study the bible so you guys understand a great deal about it. I respect that. But let me get to the point what would you think if you found out you were wrong.

Please stick to the topic I just want a clear answer just speak your mind but dont say things such as "God doesnt exist so that would never happen" I hope you get the idea

Believers-

What if you died and that was it what if there was no heaven and you lived your life serving someone who doesnt exist would you have any regrets? Would you be saddened by false hope.

I am a believer I just want your view on this but I want both groups to give a good answer.

Thanks

Am I asking too much?

All I ask is evidence for the existence of god -- the same kind of evidence you'd expect me to produce if I were asking you to believe in Zeus*. Is that too much to ask?

(*Allah. Vishnu. Somedeity. Really, I'm not fussy.)

My kids are frequently to kids bithday parties where they get a lot of candies. I really do not to much about Holloween because I live in Central America, here it is not a tradition to celebrate Halloween, we are a very Catholic family & I am not sure if it is o.k. to let my kids to take part in the Halloween festivities around the village with friends, because it is about monsters, ghost, etc. etc. at night. How can I explain them what it is about....and decide if it is correct or not to join them in this kind of activities nowadays already set in my country?

It seems that any argument against their beliefs can become proof of their beliefs...

Philsophical arguments
Romans 1:22 "Professing to be wise, they became fools"

Scientific arguments
1 Timothy 6:20 "Science falsely so called"

Religious arguments
Matthew 7:15 "Watch out for false prophets"

There is much talk among the clansfolk of the shananigans that were indulged in on the night of The Grand Hooley - and it would be a shame to cast a shadow on such a fine event.

But I have been advised by my Guiding Light that I should issue a formal statement.

I deny everything. x 3.
And the education that I received from the Brave and HUGE McTealc was absolutely as he himself states - purely based on military strategy. I am now fully up to date on 'Heat Seeking Missiles'. I feel now competant to take on any future enemies of our clan having received a very comprehensive course in hand to hand combat and was fully de-briefed.

However - ours is a professional relationship and further to that statement - I repeat - whatever the charge - NOT GUILTY.
No more hand-cuffs for me thank you very much

Let there be no more talk of such louche behaviour.

It is a disappointment that such loose talk abounds. Are the Dragons behind this fiction??

We do not die, our body dies, but we live on. We are spirits, the body is nothing more than a house, so our spirit can enjoy the things of the physical world. When the Time is come we are "Born Again"

Jesus said No new wine in old bottles.
Luke 11:24-26 explains it all, "When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

A clean spirit has a choice of staying in Paradise or returning to earth, but when you are "Born again" you remember nothing about your past life, or heaven. But you keep your strongest traits, subconsciously.

When our time on earth is over, we come back as one of the 7 other spirits, no one (spirit) has ever died.

To those who believe your body is your life, Jesus said "let the dead bury the dead"

it took me two semesters of college biology to get a basic understanding of how processes such as evolution work. there are biologists dedicating their entire lives studying all the factors that go into evolution. do you really expect me to explain in detail, in 1000 charachters or less all that is involved in evolution, to the point that you would not only understand it, but accept it as well? if you really want to know about evolution why don't you take a college course?

Opinions:
Do you find yourself saying: “I don’t think that is right” or “I don’t think that is wrong”...?

Feelings:
Do you find yourself saying: “I don’t feel like that is right” or “I don’t feel like that is wrong”...?

Beliefs:
Do you find yourself saying: “I don’t believe that is right” or “I don’t believe that is wrong”...?

Convictions:
Do you find yourself saying: “That is NOT right!” or “That is NOT wrong!”...?
-

IF you speak from convictions:
The world of “tolerance” that you now live it would say to you:
“Who are YOU to judge?! Isn’t it written, ‘judge NOT that you be not judged’ in Matthew 7:1’???”
“You are being intolerant! You are ARROGANT and SELF-RIGHTEOUS!”

On all of the answering websites i have come across and asked questions about religion most Christians seem to use Jesus' words of love and turn them into hate or use them to condemn others.

I am Egyptian I am part Native American African American Eskimo and Caucasian so in my family their are many relgions but i told this to a group of Christians once and they told me to burn in hell because I accept pieces from all religions. Is that wrong? I study religions all the time.

Im not looking to bash the spiritual leaders of Catholicism. I just want to understand that despite their scandals and trying to secretely cover them up, people defend and still follow them as spiritual leaders and remain loyal to them. I want an explaination from Catholics of thier loyalty to men who deliberately deprive themselves of a woman and act out sexually toward children when it is scriptually okay for a man to marry and have relations with a women and be a minister of God. I am just looking for honest answers for an honest and sincere question.

at a dept, store for a $100 would you keep it, leave it, return it back to the register or what. If you kept it, is it o.k., because you found it, right?

If you returned it back the company would be getting another $100 to themselves making the purchase $200. So think about it.

I am really quite frankly exhausted trying to understand the mentality of a believer. Odd, considering I used to be one. And I really would like to understand. It is genuine. I am not here to judge. Just to learn.

Just want to say thank you to all of the atheists here that have helped me down my own path of unraveling the fairy tales over the last few months. Can we all just get together and have a drink or two?

I just jumped to the left, then stepped to the right. I put my hands on my hips and brought my knees in tight. Then I finished it all off with the pelvic thrust.

Gotta confess it felt sorta good.
