Am I asking too much?

All I ask is evidence for the existence of god -- the same kind of evidence you'd expect me to produce if I were asking you to believe in Zeus*. Is that too much to ask?

(*Allah. Vishnu. Somedeity. Really, I'm not fussy.)

@ batgirl2: "Never" is a long time, ain't it? I haven't asked for proo, only for evidence that what you believe is real. That's the important thing to me -- I need to know whether what I believe has any basis in reality.

There is no god

Dear Maryann. Yes, you are asking too much. Those who require evidence of anything will never be fully convinced. It's not something which objective "evidence" can ever convince you of. It's an inner feeling that is so powerful it cannot be denied, once you have felt it. But alas, it doesn't matter if you believe or not. Belief is not a prerequisite for living a full and happy life, nor as some will try to tell you, is it a prerequisite for any kind of happy "afterlife", which you probably don't believe in anyway, but since I do, I still don't think that you or anyone else, will be send to any kind of "hell". That's something I don't believe in. Nor do I believe in a God that would send us there. If there is a hell it is a state of mind in which we are separated from knowing the full joy of life.

They only physical evidence except when a man has truly been borned again. When this happens you will see a definite change in that person and will know that this change came from something supernatural because it's not something that someone can just do. Unfortunately our country has forsaken God so much and there are very few instances where this is happening. Therefore the unbelievers grow and grow.

Maybe one day the church will wake up and realize what has happened and once again get back to where we need to be in God so that this will once again be evident.

You have been here long enough to know very well that no one can prove the existence of God.
Why are you asking for evidence?

I believe in God. You don't and never will.
I have nothing to prove to you or to anyone else. What you think does not matter.
The only thing that matters to me is that I believe.

I accept you. Can you accept me?

which god?

if your god is a human, then it's easy - if that human exists.

if your god is an object or place - ditto.

if your god is a planet, star, moon, celestiasl body or the universe itself - keep your eyes open, or buy a telescope if he/she/it's not readily visible.

if your god is an abstract concept or non-corporeal body, you're out of luck - either you choose to believe or yuo don't.

if your god is a mythological character, a legendary figure or an actual historical figure - you have to decide what your threshold of proof is, and see if there is any credible evidence to support him/her/it.

if your god is invisible, intangeable, noninterventionist but supposedly omnipotent - you have to settle for imagination, because proof is impossible unless he/she/it chooses to make him/her/itself known.

I believe in God and have no proof to offer you of God's existence. Sorry! But at least I'm honest, and I don't care if you believe in God or not, makes no difference to me. Whatever blows your skirt up!

It's not too fussy at all. It's quite a reasonable attitude. ...and how are they ever going to believe your stupid when they can't even understand that there is no god.

Talk about stupid... That's about as effin stupid as stupid can be.

This may sound cheesy or clique to you, but it's true-
I have my proof. I know God is real, I know He is there for me and that He loves me, I know because I believe.
I have my proof. it's up to you to find yours. I hope you do, but I can't say THIS is why He is real, because I don't have any solid proof.
And if I had some seeable evidence (what do want- a signed letter form him, a photo? Or what?) If I somehow brought Jesus himself, I know you would just say it was a hoax and that I made it all up. So why bother?
I already have all the proof I need, and if that isn't enough for you, then you will have to find Him by yourself.

Please keep an eye out for lighting bolts heading your way Real Soon Now.

Or, you can just wade your way through the incomprehensible prose from Catholic Crusader there. There must be something in all of that that counts as proof, right?

I am a disciple of Jesus the Christ, I am His brethren, as God is My Father. Read Daniel 8 and 12.

After you have read them. I ask you to find out if Jesus was resurrected the 3rd Sunday in April. (Easter Sunday)

Now forget about what men have taught you, two thousand and three hundred is not written 2300.

It is written 200300, divide 200300 by 360.
Daniel made this prophecy 556 years, 4 months and 20 days before it happened. This is you evidence if you want more e-mail me.

We are to take this on faith. Mainly faith in what Jesus Christ told us while He was here on earth with us. If there were concrete proof, there would be no need for faith. You can either have faith in Christ's words, or you can't. If you can, therein lies the reward. If not, well, that, too has it's reward. The choice is yours.
You see, what you are actually seeking is a sign, when scripture tells us that no sign shall be given.
If you cannot find it in your heart to believe Christ's word, then He will not find it in His heart to confess you to the Father. Sorry.
