My real question is:
'How is the Bible absolute evidence'?

If someone aks for proof that God exists, why do Christians refer to the Bible? The Bible is NOT evidence that God exists. The Bible is a series of scriptures compiled together, but mere ink should not count as 'proof'.

Face it, if the Bible never existed, Christianity would cease to exist. Therefore, you can't say everything is done by the work of God. Agreed?

One word only...

Long diatribes, lectures, and lengthy explanations put you out of the running for best answer by default.

Originality is what counts here. Not the same old stale quip that has plagued Y!A R&S for so long...

not to do it, then all they have to do is not to do it (dont forget not getting divorced!), why do they care so much about what other people do if they are the ones who say: "we are all sinners"???
So, if we are all sinners and humans are imperfect and sin let them choose their sins, what is it for christians what other people do?

Is that why Christians consider little people an abomination before the Lord and children of Satan? Why is it when the pastor is giving a sermon and little people enter the Church the pastor and the entire Church fall silent as if the sermon is damned and the congregation start looking around until an elder ask the little people to leave? What kind of Church is that?

hang around R&S when they are constantly exposed to the concepts and ideas of: God, Jesus, Jesus Christ, Jesus Our Lord and Savior, Christ, Christ the King, The Holy Ghost or The Holy Spirit, Jesus King of Kings, The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Almighty God, Blessed Trinity, Triune God, Jesus King of our hearts and minds etc. etc.? :)*

*Btw, I want to make it crystal clear that (obviously) not all atheists are cynical and blasphemous people. But, there are some here and we all know who you are so I wont mention nicks at this point.

Hi everyone,

I am meeting my girlfriend's mother, who is Japanese for the first time in a few days. The mother is visiting New York from Japan and I plan to take her and my girlfriend to dinner. In the Japanese culture, is it better to surprise the mother with an impressive dinner out or ask first where she would like to eat. Any other suggestions? I am a New Yorker with just the basic knowledge on Japanese culture.

Thank You So Much

Or do you reckon he'll think....hmmm...I didn't get it right the first time, what with all them sinners and non-believers I created last time.
Or do you expect him to wander about up in heaven chatting to his flock...like some venerable party host at a party that never ends?
And do you think he'll wear sandals with or without socks?

I'm trying to be light-hearted, but I would be interested to hear what you think it'd be like!!

After declaring Jesus to be the Lamb of God and baptizing Him, why would John the Baptist while he was in prison ask the following question? Matthew 11:2-3 - "Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, and said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?"

Proverbs 1

Warning Against Rejecting Wisdom
20 Wisdom calls aloud in the street,
she raises her voice in the public squares;
21 at the head of the noisy streets [c] she cries out,
in the gateways of the city she makes her speech:

22 "How long will you simple ones [d] love your simple ways?
How long will mockers delight in mockery
and fools hate knowledge?

23 If you had responded to my rebuke,
I would have poured out my heart to you
and made my thoughts known to you.

24 But since you rejected me when I called
and no one gave heed when I stretched out my hand,

25 since you ignored all my advice
and would not accept my rebuke,

26 I in turn will laugh at your disaster;
I will mock when calamity overtakes you-

27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm,
when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind,
when distress and trouble overwhelm you

Out of the mouths of God's kids

A small boy told a Sunday school teacher: "When you die, God takes care of you like your parents did when you were alive — only God doesn't yell at you all the time."

Anyone have any funny stories of kids in church?

Why is it that the only people asking and answering questions seem to be either born again christians or catholics? Where are all the Muslims, Jews, Hindus, etc...? It seems that the followers of Jesus are the only ones with a ton of free time on their hands.

My friend has had the job longer than any of us and she helped me get the job. We work at the front desk at school. I just moved out not too long ago because living with her was a living hell. Only problem is that she gossips about me to our boss and our boss even tells me what she says. Our boss likes to gossip too. She has been invited to sex parties by some faculty members, she has went to a concert with our boss, she has been given the key to the building and comes into it anytime she wants to use the work computer, she used up over 70% of the space on the work computer for her music, she doesn't even do any real work unless it's for a professor or is mandatory, she leaves all the work for me....she's really arrogant and i'm fed up. I'm just fed up with how she talks about me to our boss. When i moved she sent our boss 10 text messages about it. Who does that?

I know it's rocky in R&S, but someone just wrote to advise me to get rid of my "fan" section because of the stalkers and such. I did this.
Did I do the right thing?
Should I still accept people who want to be contacts?
Is accepting new fans and contacts really that dangerous?

In a previous question of mine only two Christians bothered to answer, and their answers had nothing to do with the question.

Most of you Christians choose to answer questions that really don't force you to think and where you can paste answers you found from some bogus Christian site, e.g. a question about evolution.
I've seen Christians do this for other questions, not just my own.
If you're really secure in your beliefs why do you avoid tough questions and use deflections?

My collection's a work-in-progress, but I've got at my apt: 4 different versions of the Bible, 2 Qur'ans, a Satanic bible, Dianetics, one of the Tipitaka collections, a Book of Mormon, a Holy Piby (if that qualifies), the Book of the SubGenius, the Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and parts of the Avesta.
