I do have Indian female co-workers although most of my co-workers wives stay at home. Does custom dictate for an Indian woman to stay at home?

I am leaving Sunday morning for an overseas trip which will last two months. I am saying goodbye for about a week to those who appreciate what I have to say. God willing I will be back online using my laptop once I get settled into my destination.

For this to be a religious question, what have you learned while on Yahoo Answers Religion and Spirituality? Who has touched your heart and shown you a different side to various subjects? This is open to those of all faiths and backgrounds.

For example, can't theists be defined as people who believe in a supernatural creator, a personal god who can interfere with the laws of the universe?

Well supernatural means 'more than natural' but in effect it means less than because nature describes what the universe is, if there were something, more 'beyond' that, it would have to be incorporated in to nature at some point.

Also the word 'god' like the word 'monster' describe things that don't exist. They describe one-way relationships. If I say he is a monster, or he is a god, you know how I feel about that person. How could they be either of those things in isolation? They couldn't.

Thoughts, anyone?

The sculpture shows a life-size Harry lying on his back, clasping a locket featuring a picture of his mother, with pennies placed over his eyes, his head resting on a copy of the bible and a vulture perched on his boot.

The head is earless -- a reference to a reported threat from an Iraqi militia leader to send him back to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, without his ears.

A bronze casting of Harry's "ears" is to be sold on Internet auction site eBay, while organisers are also inviting visitors to the show to leave cards and flowers at the memorial.

People seem to be forgetting that Harry is only 23 years old! How do you think he feels about having a dead sculpture of himself put in London, at the time where his mother's inquest is going on.

Please, NO rude answers.

My dad died of a drug overdose when I was 14 (4 years ago). All my life he was an alcoholic and drug addict. He also seemed to hate God...he tended to curse him. I don't know if he really hated him or if he was just pissed off. Anyway, he wasn't exactly a Christian...I don't ever remember seeing him in a church. He even named our cat after Aleister Crowely (dubbed the wickedest the man in the world). My father was by no means a satanist or anything like that...he probably got the idea to name him Aleister after the Ozzy Osbourne song.

Anyway, a year or so before he died I didn't see much of him. He had moved about an hour and a half away. Every now and then we would get a call from the hospital where he lived that he was there and had been beaten up pretty badly. Not until after his death did I learn some things....he got saved! He got his high school degree (he had dropped out in 10th or 11th grade) and was going to college to become a psychiatrist and he was actually attending church on a regular basis. Of course, he still wasn't perfect...but nobody ever is. He was still messed up, but he was trying to do better! Do you think he made it to heaven? I know it's impossible to know this sort of thing, but I want your opinion.

Once again, no rude answers please. And telling me there isn't a God is even worse...

The word “Messiah” is an English rendering of the Hebrew word “Mashiach”, whose translation is “Anointed”. It usually refers to a person initiated into G-d’s service by being anointed with oil. (Having oil poured on his head. Cf. Exodus 29:7, I Kings 1:39, II Kings 9:3).

There are many Messiahs in the Bible. Since every King and High Priest/pastor was anointed with oil, each may be referred to as “an anointed one” (a Mashiach or a Messiah). For example: “G-d forbid that I [David] should stretch out my hand against the L-rd’s Messiah [Saul]...” I Samuel 26:11. Cf. II Samuel 23:1, Isaiah 45:1, Psalms 20:6.

Christ is the Greek word for Messiah and Messiah NEVER meant son of god.

THE Messiah was the Last Israelite Prophet sent unto the Jews as a final redeemer. If they accepted him (without trying to kill him) they would be forgiven for slaying so many Prophets before him.

Jesus had a miracle birth and performed miracles so that NOBODY could call him an imposter and sentence him to death.

Even then they did.......... and an eternal curse was sent down and then the Prophethood and revelations were shifted to the Ishmaelites (the new fig tree and new Jerusalem).

The summary of these men of science surprised many religious people. They concluded: "From analysis of skeletal remains, archeologists had firmly established that the average build of a Semite male at the time of Jesus was 5 ft. 1 in., with an average weight of 110 pounds. Since Jesus worked outdoors as a carpenter until he was about 30 years old, it is reasonable to assume he was more muscular and physically fit than westernized portraits suggest."

The Gospel writers record an account when Jesus avoided violence by an angry mob simply by mingling with the crowd. Judas had to identify Him with a kiss of betrayal. Obviously, these incidents show us that Jesus looked like any other Jew of His day.

What does smoking cigarettes do for people who smoke? I don't get it...I have nothing against smokers (I don't know many of them) I just don't see the appeal. Standing outside in the cold shivering to have a smoke, the cost of cigarettes, not to mention the health risks and the lingering smell, whats the appeal of smoking to you smokers? What does it do for you?
