Among Christians in the US, Catholicism runs second to all branches of Protestantism (Catholics 25%, Protestant 52%, LDS 2%).
However, in terms of numbers when denominational families are broken down, the 10 largest religious groups in the US are:
Catholic - 50.8 million
Baptist - 33.8 million
Methodist - 14.1 million
Lutheran - 9.6 million
Presbyterian - 5.6 million
Pentecostal/Charismatic - 4.4 million
Episcopalian/Anglican - 3.5 million
Judaism - 2.8 million
LDS/Mormon - 2.7 million
Churches of Christ - 2.6 million
Congregational/UCC - 1.4 million
Jehovah's Witnesses - 1.3 million
Assemblies of God - 1.1 million
P.S. According to the same source -- worldwide, there are more Catholics than all other Christians, and more LDS than Baptists.
