Actually we already do. We are eternal spirit souls. It is only this body that we are thinking we will live and die. But we always live and never die. only the body does. But if we don't want to take any more material bodies, then we have to give up our attachments for this world. Their is a mechanical process that takes many lifetimes to end all attachments (Yogic mediation) or their is the direct natural process (Bhakti Yoga)The direct is easier and most blissful and natural and can be done in this lifetime. Just chant the holy names and offer all one has in God's service. (Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, Hari, Rama, etc. Never forget that God is the Supreme Person., And the light is His effulgence. He likes us to love Him. Love means relationship.

We all have everlasting life. No need to do anything else about it. However, what we need to be concerned is how we will live our everlasting life. My personal decision is to try my best to improve myself, so that I don't have to be born again and just stay in the spiritual world, where I belong.
Peace!

By living through your children if you have any. It was also said that if one desires everlasting life, write a book and this will ensure your immortality in this world. That is, unless your book is found to have value in only being burned.
Life should not be regarded as birth to death. Life is contained within all of the ideas and expressions we put forth throughout our life. Michelangelo is still alive today through his art. He is no less significant and powerful in his work than when he was actually breathing.
I think too much emphasis is put on heaven or an afterlife. There is simply no evidence of this. There is, however, plenty of evidence in the power of ideas, art, music, architecture, equations, theorems, discovery and so forth. Names are attached to these things. As long as the names are spoken that person lives.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. The just shall live by faith. The just shall endure by faith. Salvation is of the Lord from beginning to end. Not of works lest any man should boast. Faith in Jesus is held firm throughout life. Believe in Jesus, that is trust and hold fast to Jesus. He is the life. He is man's longing. What fools people is that God walked among us, but people stumbled because he looked like a man. He cast out demons, rebuked storms and was full of power but he allowed evil men to crucify him. He arose on the third day and is now at the right hand of Almighty God.
Jesus Christ is the life, everlasting life. The only mediator between God and man.

Dear Anil, Y do U need evr lasting life? U know as u grow old ur body becomes weak, fragile. it attracts many diseases and disorders. It doesn't look handsome/beautiful as it looked when u were young.
y don't u aspire for evrlasting youth instead - like King Yayathi, or Doren Grey?
Moreover, Mother Nature has decided that everything born should go thru the cycle of growth and end in death. that is called 'natural'. let's not go against M Nature. Never did/do the scientists or other wise people.

Understand and realize the power of Now and future will take care of itself. U can live everlasting life thru ur deeds only as body is perishable. Further why live in future. Present moment is most important.

According to the Christian bible, if you believe and accept that Jesus was the Son of God, and that he died for your sins, and you ask for forgiveness, then you will have "everlasting" life. Now, I don't know if that is meant to be a metaphor or not. I personally try to believe in the bible, but there are many reasons to doubt our interpretation of it as well. Anyway, I know it sounds horrible, but if you believe, at least you're safe!

Everlasting life on earth is impossible. Even the man who lives for a hundred years has only lived the blink of an eye compared to eternal life. Now, eternal life is more than possible, through Christ Jesus. It baffles me that people would rather work really hard and put so much effort into trying to DISPROVE God, when it is so much easier and to accept his offer...and what a wonderful offer it is. He just cannot wait to give us the gift of eternal life. But, like I've said before, He won't force his love on us. Ever noticed how sinful things have such a hold on us...its almost as if they force themselves upon our lives and even when we want them to leave us, its hard, because we fall slave to them. The Lord does not operate that way. The Lord offers us FREEDOM, not slavery, and He will never push Himself onto you. He will patiently wait, as He already has for ages, for us to open the door to our hearts. He already purchased eternal life for us, by opening our hearts to Him, we are simply accepting this great offer.
"And as the hands of Jesus opened for the nail, the doors of heaven opened for you." Max Lucado

I really wish you wouldn't ask on MY behalf, unless by WE you mean you and the mouse in your pocket.
You and every other living thing will die. You can't have everlasting life and besides, you don't even know what everlasting means.
