hang around R&S when they are constantly exposed to the concepts and ideas of: God, Jesus, Jesus Christ, Jesus Our Lord and Savior, Christ, Christ the King, The Holy Ghost or The Holy Spirit, Jesus King of Kings, The Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Almighty God, Blessed Trinity, Triune God, Jesus King of our hearts and minds etc. etc.? :)*

*Btw, I want to make it crystal clear that (obviously) not all atheists are cynical and blasphemous people. But, there are some here and we all know who you are so I wont mention nicks at this point.

Pangel,

Is this your question or mine?

Answer: Simply because I felt like "limiting" it to Christianity.

Nice try. But it certainly is possible for an atheist to be blasphemous.

Dictionary definition of blasphemous: "Grossly irreverent to what is held to be sacred." It doesn't state that the person blaspheming has to hold the belief. What next?

Pedestal,

No, I don't believe that it would support your contentions if we began to compare examples culled from any sources. :)

Why am I here? Because "I GOT NOWHERE ELSE TO GO!!!"

You missed the Divine Paraclete, the Sun of Righteousness, and the Rod from Jesse's stem, unless they were in under "etc."

There's lots of reasons to be here, and this question (or variants) has been asked many times.

What troubles some cynics, however, is the worry as to whether we're being cynical enough (thank you Terry Pratchett) as reality or at least the internet seems to take our cynical expectations and out-do them on a regular basis.

I don't really need to give examples culled from R&S, do I?
Or mention the drinking game that was coined in a mix (as far as I can tell) of amusement, despair, resignation and self-defence.

it is impossible for an atheist to be blasphemous, since one cannot offend what one doesnt believe, blasphemous is what christians call those who mock their religion BUT no one can BE blasphemous, this is a "title" other people may call you, not a label that defines who you are
