Or do you reckon he'll think....hmmm...I didn't get it right the first time, what with all them sinners and non-believers I created last time.
Or do you expect him to wander about up in heaven chatting to his flock...like some venerable party host at a party that never ends?
And do you think he'll wear sandals with or without socks?

I'm trying to be light-hearted, but I would be interested to hear what you think it'd be like!!

Sorry....didn't want to give the impression I was worried about it or not a fervent atheist. I just find studying the beliefs of people fascinating!
There's a lot of untapped creativity out there, and I'm planning on writing a book!

After the balls-up he made of this one, he's probably had his licence revoked.

Stalin, Pol Pot, Hitler, Bush - what sort of clown creates people like that.

The following 2 verses say there will be a new earth:

2Pt:3:13: Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Rv:21:1: And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Some claim, and I have heard this as well, that the earth will just be restored. However the following 2 verses say that all the elements will be melted/burned:

2Pt:3:10: But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

2Pt:3:12: Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

GOD IS NOT GOING TO DESTROY THE EARTH, THE EARTH SOMETIME IN THE NEAR FUTURE WILL BECOME A GARDEN OF EDEN OR PARADISE WHERE PEOPLE CAN LIVE IN PEACE & SECURITY.

ARMAGEDDON IS SIMPLY HIS WAR TO CLEAN THE EARTH OF WICKED PEOPLE & ALL BAD THINGS THAT EXIST, & PEOPLE WHOSE WORSHIP IS UNACCEPTABLE TO HIM.

Why, though, would God wage a global war? Armageddon is closely related to one of his cardinal qualities, justice. The Bible declares: “God is a lover of justice.” He has seen all the acts of injustice perpetrated during man’s history. This naturally provokes his righteous displeasure. Thus, he has appointed his Son to wage a just war in order to do away with this entire wicked system.

Only God is capable of waging a truly just and truly selective war during which righthearted individuals, wherever they may be on earth, will be preserved. ) And only he has the right to impose his sovereignty over all the earth, for it is his creation.

What about survivors? Indeed, no one needs to perish at Armageddon. The apostle Peter observed: “God, does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.” And the apostle Paul stated that God’s “will is that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth.”

Consider the good Har–Magedon promises to achieve, godly humanity’s peaceful future on this planet, no more pollution, no more war, no more poverty, no more disease or even death. God promises: “Look! I am making all things new.” Revelation 21:3,4

The one's living in a Paradise Earth will be the survivors of Armageddon, and the one's that will be resurrected & obey the rules that are layed out by Jesus Christ.

Yes, he will create a new heaven and a new earth (check out Revelation 20 and onward)

The part about not getting it right the first time... don't you see that's the whole point - that we would see how awful it is to disobey God and to live apart from him. Humanity is getting one deep drink of what it is like to disobey God: wars, famine, death, pain, isolation.

No, I don't think we'll choose to go our own way again after living through this hell on earth...

Yes, He will re-create the Earth the way it used to be before the Fall. But this time, it will be filled with people whose obedience has already been tested in this life; and there will be no more sin. Those who are saved will be able to build houses and grow their own food (vegetables - there will be no death in Heaven, and thus no meat). They will also have a mansion in the New Jerusalem.

According to Charmed, when Shiva and, oh, who was it...Parvati? Lakshmi? Whoever the cosmic mother is... consummate their love a second time, the earth will be remade.

They made the earth the first time they got together, and when they come back together, the world will be destroyed and remade. I'm assuming that's semi-Hindu lore...though, it was on Charmed and I don't even remember that episode that well, though Leo and Piper were possessed by the god and goddess and Piper had a bunch of arms. I mean, appendage arms. Not weapon arms.

Anyway...

many traditions say that the world is periodically destroyed and remade, or things move in cycles. Like, God flooded the world in the Bible and then it dried off and was repopulated by whatever wasn't eaten on the Ark.

I would assume something similar would come back up.

But I may not remember Charmed that well...

The bible does state that the earth will not be destroyed, however Revelation 21 says that God will referbish the earth. This is what it is referring to when it says "a new earth." Revelation 21:3,4

It's not Jehovah's intent to destroy the earth, the scriptures clearly state that He will bring to ruin those ruining the earth.
At Ecclesiastes 1:4 we read where the earth will stand to times indefinite.
