Parents who allow their children to run around the store unsupervised.

Parents who allow their children to push around the toy grocery carts while their children ram the cart into everything and everyone.

Parents who allow their children to whine incessantly about wanting this or that, and ultimately giving into their children's demand to shut them up.

People who talk on their mobile while parking their **** and cart in the middle of the isle, oblivious to everyone around them, so that no one can move around them.

People who yammer on their mobile while in the check-out line, slowing down their check-out.

When the person behind me starts to add their items to the checkout belt BEFORE I have had a chance to empty my own cart. And if that idiot is on their mobile, then I feel at ease taking the dividing bar and smashing it into their items to create space for me to unload my own items. The person usually gets the point rather quickly. If you cannot talk on the mobile and be courteous to others, then hang up the damn phone.

Yes, I have problems with parents and their children, and with mobiles in general.

Oh, and the person who is in a rush and feels everyone MUST accommodate them and their rudeness. Screw that. I usually will accommodate a person if given a polite request. But if a frantic and pissy "I am in a hurry, therefore get the hell out of my way," then the person way as well go screw themselves.

Honestly, I had a lot when I was still working, but since retiring I've mellowed.

I would say now, parents who let their kids push the cart. They are all over the place. The next one would be the basket placed in the middle of the aisle where you can't get by. I always try to put my basket aside somewhere where it is not in the way if I can. The best thing to do is shop early in the morning or late in the evening. Less crowded.

What we need it to actually go back to little stores, the butcher, bakeries and fish shops, and get these big stores out of the way. They cause stress for everyone, as you say, there is never anyone to help when you want. And the times my heels have been hurt by someone slamming into me with a trolley or running over my feet are to many to count. Not to mention the women who let their children push the cart. And the poor kids can hardly reach the handle. No wonder they bash everyone.

What I don't understand is why when you're the first person in the store and you need help and there are 5 or 6 people who work in the store just standing around shooting the breeze that you can't get any help. I was in one store right after they opened and when I asked for help, they said they were on break. I left a full shopping cart sitting right there. As I was walking out they said what about the full cart I just left. I said when you get done with 'break' you can put everything back.

I hate those humongus grocery carts made to look like cars that parents use to confine the rug rats and also double as shopping carts. Those things are huge and take up so much space. I know that in the larger scheme of things that this is really a very small deal....but, you asked....

My biggest peeve is people who don't care to notice the signs that say 15 items or less and they have a basket full of items. I'm usually the one who will say something to them.

My local store has very nice checkers and I have noticed that most of the shoppers have read such a book.

That would be great.
People with a whole buggie of groceries in the 10 items or less aisle.
Some one who writes a check and waits until they get to the check out to fill it out.
The lack of help for those who have trouble walking or carrying out their groceries.

I would rather they not use loud music, That when they finally sell something that I like , they keep it in stock for more then a few months. That they really did have an counter for 10 items or less. And that it was used by those that had 10 items or less. Other then that. We all have to eat .

Grocery store etiquette?

(1) Don't squeeze the Charmin
(2) Don't squeeze the life out of the 'maters in the produce dept.
(3) Don't squeeze the bread, rolls, etc.
(4) Don't forget, others are also shopping in the store, so don't double park your cart.

Couldn't resist & please know it's all in fun. :)
