Proverbs 1

Warning Against Rejecting Wisdom
20 Wisdom calls aloud in the street,
she raises her voice in the public squares;
21 at the head of the noisy streets [c] she cries out,
in the gateways of the city she makes her speech:

22 "How long will you simple ones [d] love your simple ways?
How long will mockers delight in mockery
and fools hate knowledge?

23 If you had responded to my rebuke,
I would have poured out my heart to you
and made my thoughts known to you.

24 But since you rejected me when I called
and no one gave heed when I stretched out my hand,

25 since you ignored all my advice
and would not accept my rebuke,

26 I in turn will laugh at your disaster;
I will mock when calamity overtakes you-

27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm,
when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind,
when distress and trouble overwhelm you

Anyone can get knowledge.All you have to do is listen or just read a book.But to have the wisdom to use knowledge.

That has to come from God Himself.I chase after it.

Wisdom, intelligence, and reason are not the same thing at all. In fact, some people might argue that wisdom is specifically the knowledge that comes from experience, despite what reason might state. For example, a reasonable person might argue that everybody should be reasonable, while a wise person will know that no matter what, they won't be. Second, is it necessarily a bad thing? Reason is highly valued by the capitalist value system currently en vogue, but in the past reason was considered suspicious, or wrong. I'm not saying I don't like reason--I really really do--but I don't think that reason should automatically be elevated as the be-all, end-all way of acting and being. Emotions, intuition, the body, faith, these things all have their own kind of intelligence, which should also be valued. Just as the body without reason is bad, so is reason without the body.

If "wisdom" consists of blind faith in religious leaders, and unquestioning belief in an ancient book that is frequently illogical, which contradicts itself, and which has been proven to be wrong about many things (if taken literally)...

If laughing at one who has been a victim of disaster, mocking one who suffers misfortune, and taking joy from another person's distress is "wisdom"...

If that is "wisdom" then I guess I will continue to reject such "wisdom" as long as I am a caring, thinking, intelligent human being. And to reject any book or person who teaches such "wisdom."

Sorry, I know that's not the answer you wanted, but that is not my (or any reasonable) definition of "wisdom" or "knowledge" or "learning."

Proverbs 4 gets deeper...
noting wisdom is basic, so get it,
but with all getting get understanding, perhaps
to understand 2 wisdoms compared in James 3.
And when understanding is embraced, well then
thy head is crowned with "grace glory", not two crowns.

In the Bible Emblem there are two crowns
atop a book open proper, but only one
at the end, with the volume of the two.

Perhaps the two crowns are Law vs Law,
but one crowning glory of God is Grace.

Repeating Law is Law Law.
His Grace is NOT Law Law.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Proverbs 1
1The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

2To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

3To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

4To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

5A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

6To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

7The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

I love the Wisdom of God , He increases it in me every single day. And before I make any major decisions I seek God first and at the same time seek cousil from only very few of my Christian brothers and sisters who I can trust.

Thank YOU.... !

I embrace .... The... Wisdom from Above...!

(James 3:14-to-18) But if you have bitter jealousy and strife in your hearts, do not glory and lie against the truth.

(Jam 3:15) This is not the wisdom coming down from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

(Jam 3:16) For where envying and strife are, there is confusion and every foul deed.

(Jam 3:17) But the wisdom that is from above is first truly pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

(Jam 3:18) And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Thanks, RR
