what would you say to him?
Please, I know some of you really do not like the man, but for the sake of propriety, try to keep your answers clean.

Whenever I see a picture of Jesus, whether its a big painting on a Church or Cathedral wall or window, it always shows jesus with long dark (or light) brown hair that reached his shoulders. But does it not say in the Bible that this is sameful?
Corinthians 11:14 says "Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?"

Can someone please explain?

Many of us lose control of our composure when you're with people that provoke us and drive us to do things in the negative way, without thinking that you're already doing so.

Haven't they read the words of the High One? Don't they know we are living in the End Time and Ragnarök will soon be upon us. The Earth will be racked in the Fimbel winter and Loki will lead the hosts of Hel against the Holy Gods. Unless they join Odin and the Einherjar in the battle against the Frost Giants they cannot hope for rebirth on the Golden plain where peace and justice are forever. Is it just wilful ignorance or do they hate the good?
(Irony warning!!!!)
They can dish it out but can they take it?

If we went through a list of every god imagined by humans and gave reasons why we dismissed them, when we got to yours, these reasons would, presumably, not apply.

Why is this?

I reject as too restrictive the implications Design => Intention => Mind of an advanced life form. I replace them by Design => Direction => laws (which act everywhere in human beings and elsewhere). So, the laws of nature without a personal God or an individual mind can account for the intelligent design behind the universe.

By "personal God", I mean a God that someone (such as Jesus) can know personally. I like the term "Intelligent design", even without the notion of a personal God, because it says that the laws of nature have a direction. Things progress, the genome became more and more complex, etc. I believe in a personal God, but I don't think that this aspect of the laws of nature is needed to explain the creation of the universe and evolution.

The personal God is an aspect of the laws of nature that is only needed to explain our personal experience, usually an inner experience, unless of course you met that personal God externally, say, in some coffee shop.

That is almost as crazy as Scientology. According to them God is a huge space sex addict and that is what we all strive to be. Oh and black people are wrong apparently.

You may want to look at John 14:6, 1 Tim3:15, Matt 18:15-17 and (Acts 15:28-29 with Acts 16:4) and see which church actually applies this ideology and methodology.

I've been following the path for a few years now but just thought about something since Samhain is coming. OK many paths believe in reincarnation, which would mean that our life force, chi, soul (whatever we choose to call it) is brought back to earth in another vessel.... but on Samhain it's believed-at least in the old days-that the veil is thin, and is the time to "visit" those who've passed.. which would mean spirits/souls are just there in the other world. It would be a contradiction to follow/believe both of those stories???? Or am I missing some pieces in there?

A Christian asks for advice and the response he gets is don't listen to Christians. Not to mention that the person chosen as the best answer used profanity, which goes against community guidelines. This makes no sense to me, but then a Christian has to know that when he or she needs advice, it's best to turn to another christian and preferably a minister. My question is in reference to the following question and advice: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AqcXJKPM06Kk03v7csbrCTTty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20070924185707AAo1NUc&show=7#profile-info-JS9MJYf0aa

I was taking my usual short-cut through a mall department store, and noticed none of the ladies working the cosmetics counters had a place to sit - they must stand there all day long, which has got to to be tough the feet! Yes, you want attentive employees, but you also don't want employees irritable from foot pain, and half the counters didn't even have customers.

So why no seats for the ladies (or men, I've just not seen that yet) working at the cosmetics counters at the department store?

doesnt that mean that Christians have something in common with hitler? I wont go so far as to say they should look up to him, or make him a saint for trying to erradicate all gays or anything...but...christians have at least one thing in common with the guy.

What exactly does this phrase mean? It obviously isn't "literally" true, since the LDS Church doesn't believe in the Trinity (or, at least, hasn't since 1834). When you hear the prase "we believe all things," what does that mean to you?
