It seems somehow wrong to let 3 points be the difference in a friendship, especially when 3 points means absolutely nothing.
So, what do you think?

If God were real, it would not require a leap of faith to believe. We would all simply know God as an element of fact. Wouldn't it be acknowledged as real, just as real as the sun and the moon to all of humanity?

It serves no purpose for the creator of all to set limitations on it's acceptance or test faith. "ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God", means every human being is unworthy of it's Creator. It's this selfhate doctrine that damages humanity. There is a road to acceptance but it is narrow and paved with blood. ie. salvation.

How can it be the way, the TRUTH and light? The TRUTH is factual. Belief in God has no basis in fact. Believers are expected to do so by faith alone. Truth and scrutiny are discouraged by believers. The dark ages I fear, never really left us.

Let's all do a critical examination of religion, its history, culture and subculture. The truth is a bitter pill but necessary if we are ever to progress as species.

Numerous false claims have prompted me to post this question.
The 27 books of he New Testament were decided upon by the Catholic Church over 1,600 years ago.
At the Councils of Hippo and Carthage, held in the 390's AD, the bishops created the list New Testament books which is the same as the NT list today. Previous to that, Pope Damasus (366-384) in his Decree, listed the books of today's canon, and this pope later ratified the decisions of the Councils.
So, for those of you who think that Constatine corrupted the Church as early as 325 AD, how can you possibly accept your New Testaments as the Word of God? How could you follow the lead of a "corrupted" church? Quite a connundrum, ain't it?

Oh, and if you say the Holy Spirit protected the list for Christians, then you have just quoted Catholic dogma, because WE say the Holy Spirit protects the decions of councils that are chaired by the pope - hence their Infallibility.

So what sayest thou? This should be VERY interesting

Oh and, try not to run to the moderators to delete this question like you did the last three times I asked it, atheists. I know it's embarassing you can't answer except by making "cuz I said so" and by using answers like that horribly arrogant, blind, and disgrace to mankind one by Chris which was virtually,

"Wow, you really need to do research, ignorant people are horrible aren't they? I'm so arrogant and wise in my own eyes that it didn't occur to me that your question counts as research and that I am a hypocrite by not answering and making fun of you for using yahoo answers, which I too am using."

Shakes head at atheists.

This question must be a real big threat to the moderators and atheists to always run to delete this question. Try not to be such cowards and sore losers this time eh?

So I talked to the campus minister, i only told him the part about being happy at mass. I said im not sure what to do because my path is so unclear, and he said the samethign! 'Maybe your supposed to be a nun" and now everything looks like that. Im almost done with college though and i dunno what to do. I dunno how to read 'signs' and even if they are signs

In your 8th Article of Faith it says that:
"We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God"
I know that you trust the Book of Mormon 100%, but have you ever been told what parts of the Bible you can't trust 100%?
As a former member of the church I am still waiting to find out.

And you can't just say "yes". I have never seen anything in my own personal life that comes close to resembling the supernatural realities described in the Bible, Torah, or Koran. No burning bush, no miracles, no wheels in the sky. How can all of these godly things all of a sudden stop. I seek evidence yet the various clergy always say "Look in your heart". Then they ask me for money which makes me distrust them... All of them... So can you prove it? Can anyone really?

I was watching TV last night and there was a show about “contacting the ghost of Buddy Holly”. They had a “Wiccan High Priestess” and her coven meet them at the cemetery to help them contact the ghost. The “Priestess and her coven” did none of the things I would think should be done in order to prepare or succeed in such an endeavor. In fact the whole show was kind of “Blair Witch” like. Then I thought about it. I don’t think that I would have appreciated it any more if the “Wiccans” would have done things differently.

I really am not sure I want to see any of our rituals or practices on TV.
What do you think about Wicca or Pagan’s on TV?

And please, none of this "Jesus died for our sins to eradicate the old Jewish law" baloney. It makes no difference. The atrocities happened either way. Most of you Christians ignore them or are not even aware of them. Check out this website, there are several like it-

People in every culture throughout history have believed their gods were the only ones. Temples, pyramids, statues, wonders of the world have been built in their honor and thousands have been slaughtered in their name. None of them have survived throughout the entire history of mankind. What makes you think the god you currently believe in is different and won't be replaced in the future?

If you believe that man was seperately 'made' different from the rest of life on Earth....
Do you think 'god' created the Chimpanzee first, as a 'template' before 'making' man?
It would certainly seem so, look at their faces, ears, hands, fingernails, family ties, moods etc!
Also, they are 98% genetically the same as humans!!

Ps.... Surely Evolution provides a better link?

To recap, the question was " Christians, if God commanded you to commit genocide on all atheists and people of other religions, would you do it?"

If you answered "yes" to that question, how would you know it was God commanding you? And indeed, when God issues any kind of command, how do you know it comes from him? Because, it could be anything, really, couldn't it? It could be Satan masquerading as God. It could be a delusional voice in your own mind. Or it could actually be God. So how do you know? Do you ask for ID? And what would you accept as positive identification?

I mean, nothing's on TV, and you've read your books and done the puzzles in the paper, and the cats are asleep, so you and your partner/spouse go upstairs to make love.

I did that during the NASCAR race rain delay, and inadvertently admitted it to a few of my friends, who now seem to think my wife and I are strange. (Actually, the women think we're strange; a straight man said he wished he'd find a woman who would do that.)

So is it weird? Why or why not?
