If you believe that man was seperately 'made' different from the rest of life on Earth....
Do you think 'god' created the Chimpanzee first, as a 'template' before 'making' man?
It would certainly seem so, look at their faces, ears, hands, fingernails, family ties, moods etc!
Also, they are 98% genetically the same as humans!!

Ps.... Surely Evolution provides a better link?

corrosionfactor.... I do believe chimps/apes should be classed as a 'tribe' of early humans, that way they could be protected!!

EyeLovesJesus .... The court system was wrong then, also a court system is still ruled/sweared on bible, under 'god', so should not be taken seriously, as 'god' is fiction!!
Evolution, with chimp links to man, is far more conclusive evidence!

Larry the Don: you don't seem to understand that evolution is an ongoing process. For proof of this, we just need to look at the rapid evolution of the peppered moth in England in the 19th century. Peppered moths rest on birch trees during the day. Due to rapid industrialisation in Manchester England in the 19th century and the consequent pollution, the trunks of birch trees rapidly became darkened. Peppered moths rapidly evolved to become much darker, as those moths that did not mutate into having darker wings were picked off by predators. There are mutations in every generation. Moths have shorter life spans than us and procreate far more rapidly, so this gave us a great opportunity to see evolution in action. This is of course not the only piece of evidence for evolution but it neatly refutes what you are stating.
We also have irrefutable evidence of evolution of humans from the common ancestor they shared with chimpanzees (with whom we actually have more than 98% in common). We diverged from that common ancestor around 7 million years ago.
This begs the question: if we have souls and chimps don't, when did we acquire souls? All of a sudden, or gradually?
Of course, the response to these awkward questions is just to refute the existence of evolution. Good luck with that one.
We are separate from the rest of the animal kingdom in that we appear to be the only species that has the capacity to discover our origins as a species - and to wilfully ignore that evidence...
Nice question!

Genetically the same maybe, but they do not think like humans. So somewhere there is a difference.

People appear to be fascinated by the simple antics of chimps, and seem to accord them great intelligence?

Intelligence and stunning workmanship - watch a bird build the most intricate of nests with NO HANDS.

They are not human either because birds were created after the bird kind, just as chimps were created after the chimp kind.
Humans were created after the GOD kind.
And God said, let us make man in our image after our likeness''---- Gen.1:26

Of course if you do not believe the Word of God, then you will not believe this answer either.

If you want an answer to this question, then I would suggest that you look and ask elsewhere for it.
The material Man or Wo-man do not have the answer.

Who said that God only created man? God created the heavens and the earth. And everything in between.

manneke: No it doesn't. Are you suggesting that, because I work or live in a gray building, I will eventually turn gray? If so, how long do you estimate this will take? Even if this were to happen, that hardly justifies me having evolved from any other creature. You maybe, but not me or any family member of mine. If humans did come from chimps, why are chimps still around? If we have looked the way that we do for as long as we have, why haven't we changed some by now? At what point is someone sufficiently evolved so that the evolution process stops? How can you find yourself willing to believe one thing that there is no proof of but not another? Is it just inconvenient for you to accept creation? Does it make you accountable for something that you don't want to own up to? As for my particulars, I couldn't care less if I had originated from a chimp but the facts are that I don't. There is no proof. This being the case, you continue to believe what you can't prove and I will do the same. If I'm wrong, it won't matter when I die. If I'm right, it will matter when you die.

Science only proves the Bible is wrong, it doesnt discount God.
I personally dont believe in God but I cant completely discount the possibility of Gods existence.

Can God not create two different creatures that share 98% of their genetics? I don't understand why that would be more difficult to do than to create an entirely opposite species.

PS: More evidence for evolution - I know people who still act like chimps!!!

Be blessed.

Hello Paul@222.. :)

No..and I guess the Courts must not think so either..because just a couple of days ago..some tried to declare a chimp as a human being and the Courts voted and the conclusion was they are not human..

I do not say the above to criticize..just to let you know.. :)

To think that man evolved from a chimp would surely demand the intelligence of a chimp?

Perhaps you are right, in some cases?

No, I think God has a sense of humor and He knew evolutionists would say man came from monkeys so God made them similar to man to give man a good laugh. I love the monkeys. They have always made me laugh. We are very similar to other things also. I think it is because the same God created everything in 6 literal days as He said.

Evolution doesn't have a clue.

The chimp shares genes with humans that are not shared with gorillas or orangutans which share a different version.
