I live near the border, and so meet Canadians on a regular basis.
Seems to me that most of them drive too fast, have different ideas of what the rules of the road may be.
I have been held up in line at the cash register because clerks were having trouble with the exchange rate. Of course, this isn't the Canadian's fault, but still, it leaves me with an unpleasant association in my mind.
Beyond all that, things are good.

As an American, I think the differences between our countries are the only things different. Canadians have a different accent when they speak, and I think smarter than most because some can also speak french I believe. I believe you guys are much more passionate about hockey, and winter sports, and generally a lot more conservative than americans (we tend to be loud, stuck up, know it alls, or very few of us... just cool people to be around). Lastly, I as an american thank Canada for Brett Hart, Owen Hart (to this day he's missed), Edge, and also is deeply saddened for the episodes of Chris Benoit.

everyones going to say different things. myself being canadian have learned that alot of americans base who canadians are off stereotypes. like how we say apparently say aboot and eh in alot of our sentences but when really alot of us dont. Michael Moore makes movies that show tons of stereo types towards canada and america. one movie shows that people think the CN tower in toronto is a missle silo, and how canada is trying to take over america.
so basically you cant really get a proper answer for this when everyone has there own opinion on things.
for stereotypes. there an opinion one person made so many people believe.
so for your answer at school maybe talk about personalized opinions or stereotypes

Americans think Canadians are poor Americans. We are not. Canadians have more respect aroung the world then Americans because we try to keep our nose clean. We do not elect war mongulls and we try to help the weaker people of the world such as women in Afganistan. Americans respect Canadians in many ways, but are not informed enough about Canadians and how they live.

We are not little America. We stand proud for our country as you do for yours. We do not have the racism that seems to be plaguing your country. Our crime rate is not even close to yours. I feel sorry for what is happening in your country. You need to get stricter gun laws. Our dollar is now above yours. Our economy is doing well. We are fighting along side of your men. Our men are risking their lives as well. We have a beautiful country and we are not poor. Your country has more poor then we have so that ignorant statement is very wrong.

I always thought it to be just like the united states but alot less chaotic. Easier way to go about things and less cynical.
Canada is fine by me,it seems like the only good alternative to living in the United States

I love Canada. They are, for the most part, just like Americans, but more international, and not obsessed with Paris hilton and Britney spears. it was nice to go up there for a week and not hear about Brits trip to rehab.
It's also more nature oriented. you never see places like Stanley park down in the US. I love Canada.

I think Canadians are... relaxed. Everytime I go all I think is how unhurried and, well, slow the people are. I also find the cities very clean and full of culture. I love Canadians!
