It would be a sin for you to do anything but become a nun now.

Think about this, have you EVER been happy outside of church? Writing poetry? drawing a picture? solving a math problem? helping a child? helping others?
Don't become a nun just because you don't know what else to do. You can help people outside the church too.
A good family friend is an ex-nun that did just as you are saying, then she realized that she could do all of the same stuff (for her god) without being a nun. She formally left the church after 7 years as a nun, fell in love, had children and now works as a social worker trying to help children.
If you were to be a nun, wouldn't everything (your body, mind and soul) point towards it?

God's path for you in your life is written in your heart, mind and soul. Being a nun might be your calling, and it might not. You can enjoy the presence of God and Jesus in your life anywhere on the planet if you learn to connect in communing time. I do and I'm not a nun. I'm married and have two boys... but I was never truly happy until I learned to keep God in my life everywhere.
You won't need a "sign" that generation was supposed to have gone away over 2,000 years ago :) ~ being a nun takes a whole lot more than just being at mass to be happy, which I am sure you well know.
If you are being called, rest assured that you will be led.

Tough question. Here are my thoughts. Consider whether you can serve God better as a nun or being a wife and mother or a doctor or missionary etc . All of them are vocations which require self sacrifice and are equally valuable roles in serving the gospel, humanity and The Church.
Any religious order has a time built in to help you discern if that's your calling or not. All it requires is the commitment and sacrifice to put in the time before making a "final" commitment. Try going to a convent and speaking with the sisters to get a better direction on it and keep praying and listening with an open heart and open mind. One can go through it all and still decide religious life is not ones vocation after all.
God's speed to you!

To get a clear picture of what you really want, think about what religion and nunhood (?) give you. A clear set of rules and rituals to perform. A highly structured environment. If you want to know which path to go you must truly discover your own emotions and what they are wanting you to do. Pray for help to know who you are first, before you set course. A hovercraft isn't made for the ocean and a yacht isn't made for a swamp. Got to know where your vessel can go.
WIth these base desires you could get the same satisfaction out of the military or other strucured activities. What will most likely happen? You'll find you have the same problems after you change your environment. Either you'll coincidentally fix your problems after changing the environment and it will be a great move, or else you will continue to feel discontent.
Good luck!

I believe when you have a calling, you will feel it 'call you'.
You feel like being a nun. Just make sure your requirements are being full filled 1) a devotion and love for god, 2) a need to give more than receive and 3) living a spartan life.
Once you have these ideas in place, all should be fine! :)

Okay, if you have to be Roman Catholic then there is STILL no reason why you shouldn't trust God. And that's my answer to you. Trust Him. He always keeps His promises. God cares. He cares about you. He even cares for what you care about.
So trust Him.
Where's the promise in the Bible that best fits your situation? Claim it whatever it is, and tell Him about it in the most direct and honest way.
May I make a suggestion to you? Here is a verse that comes to mind for what it is that you are going through, something that will counter your dilemma:
3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:
6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
(Psalm 37)
If you look closely, there is more than one promise in those verses! Are you faithful enough to trust Him for those?

I'm pretty sure that if you were "supposed" to by anything for the rest of your life, you probably wouldn't be so confused about it. If "God" is able to send "signs" to you, I'm guessing they would be pretty clear. What is your hurry, you can always become a nun. Just relax, think for yourself and make some mistakes....it's called life.

Sweet girl, becoming a nun is nothing more than giving up on living and turning your back on real life.
Face life with courage! Get some schooling, check out different occupations. I sounds to me as if you're trying to not have to step up to the plate!
God has a requirement for all of us. You appear to be shirking.
Pray about it and talk to a school guidance counselor!
God bless!

In my own experience - sometimes if GOD's will or plans seem unclear to me - I take that as a sign HE wants me to step out in faith, trusting HIM even though I'm not totally sure about what I'm doing.
And so I will pray - and decide what is the worst possible consequence if I take that particular action - and then, if I think I can live with that worst case scenario outcome - I will step out in faith, trusting HIM.
And you know what?
HE has never failed me yet!

When God gives you a calling, He gives you a desire for that calling. If you want his plan for you to be clear, take a look at the things that you want to do. Don't be afraid to dream too big either. You may have desires that are imposable with man, but you are not dealing with man. I expect that God has given you a desire, but you are not paying much attention to it, because it isn't "realistic."
He doesn't call us to do what we can do. He calls us to do what He can do.
I may be off track with that, but the bottom line is to look at your desires. Email me. I'd like to hear more. Maybe we could brainstorm.
